There are some great people who work here; however, overall there is a significant lack of balance in how work is distributed. Some employees receive most of the winter off while remaining fully paid, while others are working nearly seven days a week. This imbalance, and the clear favoritism behind it, has a serious impact on morale and motivation to stay.

Upper management either fails to recognize the issue or chooses not to address it, seemingly because they do not view it as a problem. When an employee quits or is terminated, their workload is simply passed on to others rather than hiring a replacement. This results in increased responsibilities without additional compensation, along with unrealistic expectations. Continuously correcting others’ mistakes and carrying the workload of underperforming employees makes this an exhausting and unsustainable work environment.

I was brought on as a general labourer. In a crew of 3 we would generally be given a new job site about once a week. Landscaping is a very labor intensive job but you get used to working out in the heat, and you are inclined to work hard for your crew members. It is satisfying seeing a job come together but can be very demoralizing when you are busting your a** with a small crew and management doesn't think you are working fast enough. Many of the tools are old and broken down so get used to working with subpar equipment to try to meet expectations. The skid steers are properly maintained and are used for snow removal in the winter if you would like to work full time. The employees are a stand up crowd.

Self- Motivated work environment with no micromanagement. 

My role was designer/estimator, which allowed me to practice and improve my professional skills with the support from senior designers.

The workplace culture is friendly and the door for communication with the management team is always open for every employee.

The hardest part for my role is to make the estimate 100% accurate, and there is always something I did not consider during the estimate process, but I was constantly learning from my supervisors and growing until I left the position to another organization.

The most enjoyable part would be the joy when I meet my target with the commissions I got, which is satisfying.

I worked at Park Landscaping Ltd. from June 2023 to February 2025 as a Commercial Estimator. During this time, I was primarily based in the office, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with a friendly and supportive team. The office environment was positive and welcoming, which made it easy to stay motivated and engaged in my work.

The company owner was especially encouraging and always open to supporting the team’s growth and development. Under their leadership, I was able to gain valuable experience in estimating for commercial landscaping projects, improving both my technical and professional skills.

Overall, my time at Park Landscaping Ltd. was a great learning experience. I’m grateful for the knowledge I gained and the relationships I built, and I carry those lessons with me into the next steps of my career.

Park landscaping is an ever growing company with many options to help grow your resume and build experience! However it’s a type of job where it can be very disorganized, poor management and most of the time they never have material for you where they expect you to just deal with it. So it’s unprofessional at times and sadly there are many coordinators/supervisors who don’t communicate properly and always throws you in jobs  where you don’t have the right tools or working tools for the job. It use to be a fun and really good place to get your experience and build up relationships however it’s all negative space and everybody doesn’t seem happy there.

want to go in to your personal phone to do all their paperwork, track you and write you up on so everyone can read it, about 15 managers to every crew, each crew thinks they are an island and works against the others, want you to work on call for snow removal but wont pay stand by time and if you can't work they will cut of EI in the winter months, try to pay you regular hours for all banked time, everyone tries to rat out the other guy for safety and the sub contract truck drivers never follow PPE requirements, poor service track record   on Tandems, windows and AC don't work half the time and never fixed,  and a lack of regard for drivers . otherwise , ya its great....

Working at The Park Landscaping has been a very positive experience. The environment is casual but fast-paced, which keeps things engaging and allows for constant learning. The team is friendly and always willing to help out... even the manager and president are approachable and open to conversation. I’ve picked up a lot of valuable skills and really enjoy the collaborative atmosphere. It’s a place where you feel heard and supported. I'm genuinely excited to continue growing here and contributing to the team.

Maintenance is very disorganized, seem like our managers and crew leads do not really know  what they are doing.  Not much for training accept your basic orientation.  We keep getting more work piled on, but no proper support it seems like. I dont know if I will be staying here past the summer if I can make it that long.

People you work with  are great from office to field staff.
I appreciated my internship with them it was very informative and helped my learn more about the field. I worked here before as a labourer as well before joining the office and I liked it then as well. 

There’s room for growth and foreman are always willing to teach labourers.

I love working for the Parks Landscaping Maintenance department. My coordinators are especially talented and appreciate all the work my crew does. My hope is that their enthusiasm and appreciation spills over to the company owners. I look forward to improved relations between upper management and workers, as well as the reduction of toxicity in the office.
