working at parker the first thing you will hear is safety. It's not just to look good. They prove it by showing you the safe methods, encourage working safely and there is always someone to give you a hand if you need help. 

They teach you from the ground up. And they always encourage you to ask question or ask for help. So it's a very friendly atmosphere and strong culture for safety. 

They promote job advancement but I rarely see warehouse associate moving up. Most just stay with their current job. 
I feel Parker needs to greatly improve upon this and provide a proper structure in their employees job advancement. 
And most of the internal job posting is always upper management positions. 

They try to stay competitive in terms of benefits and such. But I feel the pay isn't quite there yet with current economy. 
A single individual living alone wouldn't be able to live with the pay unless they are willing to work lots of overtime. 


- A typical day was spent managing the Product Configuration for the CSeries Fuel and Inerting Systems Preliminary Design.
- I became comfortable with Bombardier`s Catia V5 PDM/ PLM tools for Product Structure and discovered the world of an aircraft Fuel System.
- Management was in California for the most part and were at our instant disposal throughout.
- My co-workers were professional, knowledgeable helpful and a delight to work with.
-The hardest part of the job was dealing with a new program and system I wasn`t comfortable with.
- The most enjoyable was the sense of accomplishment that came from acquiring the new talents listed above.

No learning opportunity for the new employees especially sales team. Inside sales team managers interfere a lot and create a micro-management environment. New ideas are never welcomed. They expect their technical people to work only as per their strict guidelines- innovation and creativity is never appreciated. 
Only in 1 last year, all the sales trainees had left training program to join some other company.
Communication between the departments is really poor.
New graduates and sales people should stay away from this company.

A lot of opportunities to learn.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Very high expectations. You will do the work of 2 people with no pay increase and no overtime.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
No long term vision, company and culture is very short sighted. Everything is a rush and you will be pushed to your breaking point on a daily basis.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
85% of your day is processing administrative tasks because their systems are from 1970. The rest of your day is spent on your hands and knees begging suppliers to rush all your goods for month end dollars.

 A typical day would be filled up with all the un-organized and over complicated management decisions. Managers don't appreciate your new ideas, especially for new Trainees. Very reluctant to choose others opinion on their decision. Not a healthy environment for growth.
Warning - New graduates, They will not hesitate to ruin start of your Career .
Hardest part of the job - Managers don't give fair opinion and reviews and later use it against you.

Most enjoyable part - Doing something better than robotic work routine but then You may have to go through a roast session from your manager.

They hired people with engineering degrees from accredited Canadian universities to work in the assembly line and pay them with minimum wage. It says a lot about this company. There is no chance for advancement and they just make you work in the manufacturing facility despite your qualification.

Incompetent managers and they try to blame it to the subordinates for their mistakes. No proper training is given to new employees especially when it comes to using the equipments and machines.

The workers are treated differently. If you are just a temporary employee, you would not be treated with respect.

Nice building. Okay wages, a bit above average. Good hours.
Many friendly/helpful coworkers.

The Managers at the Milton location are so afraid that they won't measure up to their U.S. counterparts that they will turn a blind eye to their subordinates who take part in bullying their coworkers. The Managers are only interested in how they are viewed by Head Office in the States. They do not protect their employees from being treated unfairly.

My coworkers were fantastic. They made the job worth coming to, and I loved that my division had Casual Friday, which also included many of us either going out together for lunch, or ordering in food. That said, the job itself wasn't what I wanted, and I became bored with it quick. I reached my learning peak within a couple of weeks, until we got a new software program within the department that meant learning something new all over again. But, just because the job wasn't a good fit for me doesn't mean that it won't fit someone else perfectly.

A few good very good people, but rapidly diminishing. 

GM's are driven only by short term objectives and lack business, engineering and quality skills to relate to the market or customers!

Knowledgeable and qualified people are dismissed in pursuit of short term operational goals. 

Strategy and long term success are sacrificed for personal goals. Nepotism is rife at senior levels and dictates career progression.
