I initially was aprehensive about taking a position here, and then agreed. The atmosphere here was off from the beginning. There was a disconnect with some staff and a lack of communication and team camaraderie. Negative language used often towards or about others consistently. Overall, strain, anxiety and lack of desire to stay was my feeling early on. Eye opening experience, and not in a good way. I do not like to make negative reviews, but I feel there are many wonderful places to work in Healthcare that are inclusive and well staffed. I personally have never seen so many staff members leave a place in he 5 plus months I was there. I believe you should always follow your instincts, in my case I did not and would have saved myself a lot of grief declining a position here. That being said, do your research on an employer, it's the best advice I can give.

Nothing positive about my experience working here except for the residents. DOS does not uphold professionalism and many Managers, HR Dept. and mixed staff members resigned recently because of this. Very poorly run, disorganized and widely disrespected. 

Last min call ins from some employees create burnout for newer employees who are forced to work 12-16 hours or take shifts on days off or face being reprimanded (fired) by DOS 

Full-time staff are lacking in certification and     skills and productivity including professionalism. They are desperate for care staff and will hire anyone but rarely keep them after probation is completed, this is very sad for the residents. 

It is a tireless and mentally demanding environment to work in and not because of the job itself or responsibilities or the residents, but rather the staff and DOS 

I would strongly advise against working here. 

Working here was not a pleasant experience. Lacking consistency and proper management with poor quality organization. Expectations are high to pick up added work load from continued call ins from staff, long hours 12-16 without any notice or regard for the constant pressures that occur here. A lot of negative comments spoken about other staff in Care Office, nothing is ever appreciated. 
Cares are often left incomplete by certain staff, management is fully aware and allows it. 
Several staff including 1 manager should be fired for the betterment of this facility and most of all the individuals that require care is my belief. The supported individuals are wonderful, and deserve to have the direct care needed, always. Without compromise. 

The staff culture at “The Lodge” is terrible.  The staff struggle daily to look after a heavy load of patients who require full or complete care (including feeding and toileting) and you are always understaffed. It is an expectation that for staff that do come in, they have to pick up the slack for those that don’t. Management rarely steps in to help. The facility has more managers than actual floor staff. Clients will go without a bath, cares, or having their rooms cleaned sometimes for 2 weeks or more because of staffing issues. Management turns a blind eye to this. Nepotism runs high in this place, so unless you are a family member or close friend of a manager, you will be worked like a dog and punished when you don’t. I will never recommend this place for staff or for patients! 

The work environment here is challenging due to no regard for having to stay for 12-16 hours with no notice. Call ‘ins are frequently occurring, thus adding added work load onto the minimal staff there as of late. 

Healthcare shortages are real in some facilities, however there seems to be an ongoing trend at this place of employment where they cannot seem to keep employees. 

A well balanced work environment allows team members to support one another. Sadly, this facility does not provide such support. 
Much room for improvement is needed here, in addition to the lack of care given by many employees. 

I would not recommend this place of employment, as there are several places that have staff to accommodate and work with each other not against. 
Just my thoughts. 

I’ll start by getting the cons out of the way and it’s nothing anyone else hasn’t already said.
Some of the managers and longer term staff can be pretty toxic.. that being said, if you have strong boundaries, be firm, but professional, you will have no problem.
I feel that everyone who works there has the clients best interest at heart, they are treated with respect and dignity. Progressive with care and behavioural plans, and I believe paid somewhat fairly except it getting too expensive in this area so a raise would be appreciated.
It’s an organization that really cares about their clients and helping them live fulfilling, supported lives. 

I was very pleased at how comfortable I felt right away at the lodge! I was welcomed & taught very patiently by the staff. At the beginning I would get anxiety & overwhelmed because at a job like that you basically have to learn by doing no matter how much training you have, you just have to get thrown in, but it’s okay because of all the supportive staff to help you along the way! As long as you care about your job & the people being assisted & cared for, you will forever be welcomed with open arms :) it is a place that will eventually feel like home! 

Zero collaboration with staff from Management. Very disorganized and misrepresented to potential employees. Staff members systematically refuse to be supportive to new staff and will make time very stressful and uneasy here if you don’t fit in! No privacy regulations or procedures in place to prevent staff knowing everything about other staff, especially new hires. Lack of skill set and professionalism or certification or training with most staff. Expect nothing but do everything and be prepared to be let go before probation ends. Toxic work environment. Sad for the people who live there. 

Staff are severely underpaid for the workload they are expected to perform and tasks go unfinished due to heavy workload.
Management will harass you to pick up shifts or work double shifts/ stay later due to constant call ins.  
Shifts are constantly moved around or schedule is often pulled last minute due to staff calling in. 
The hardest part of this job would be how much the residents of this home suffer due to poor care. Most of the homes issues could be resolved if the entire management team was fired. 


Highly disappointing, as the overall environment was lacking progress and skill via minimum performance and consistent negativity and often caused by full time staff.  

Manger is aware of all misdoings and turns the other way. Manger and Full time staff should be to be reviewed and or terminated due to above mentioned. Behavioural issues are not addressed and permitted by residents. 

Building needs many repairs. Rooms are cluttered. Dirty. Bathing is often skipped for residents. Would not recommend a loved one be here protocols are not followed for safety.
