Working at Partners in Parenting shows me what a caring workplace looks like! Not only are there so many amazing staff members that truly care for the special and unique individuals that they support, but overall the Leadership Team works collaboratively to support the staff, make the programs run smoothly and help care for the clients and their families.

With numerous employee incentives throughout the year, the Corporate Office also strives to make everyone feel valued and appreciated. The CEO, Directors, HR and Supervisor/Manager Team greets everyone warmly and is very hands on at the programs to interact with the staff, clients and family.
 
The leaders here care so much about the people at Partners in Parenting and have a passion for the organization that they have built including expanding programs to meet needs as well as advocating for developmental services by going to Members of Parliament to hold them accountable to achieve fair per diems for their clients and fair and equitable wages for staff. They go above and beyond to try to understand and face the challenges in the sector and are actively working to be able to change it.

Partners in Parenting offers meaningful work supporting individuals in a variety of roles across the city. They provide training when you are hired and support and guidance as you learn in your role. The Directors, and leadership team are supportive, encouraging and always willing to answer questions.  Shifts at Partners in Parenting are always different. You get opportunities to do fun activities with residents, go on community outings and spend time helping individuals learn new meaningful skills which is very rewarding. 
Due to the population that Partners in Parenting supports, some days can be more challenging than others, but there is always someone to help you work through these challenges.
I love the opportunities that this job has given me, and the people I have been able to meet working here. 

Good place to work depending on the supervisors/managers. Always short staffed for the homes, expect staff to work long hours, overtime, often many days without a day off, work in multiple locations for a variety of experience. Pay is poor compared to similar  agencies. Room for advancement because they lose supervisors frequently (poor pay, overwork, bullied by management, they want a caviar employee for a bologna) Management/human resources look down on staff and treat them poorly (if they don't like you, they will make your life miserable).
Definitely a building block, but not a career environment.
Owner is running a business, bottom dollar is keeping cash in her pocket.

When I joined the company during covid times, the company helped all the employees to be safe and the company created very safe workplace environment. The managers and supervisors are very receptive , listens to your problem and quickly come with the solution which is fair. There is huge culture diversity so you get exposed to different cultures and working with them is so fun. I loved going on outings either clients . Also, company does the staff appreciation month and give us pizza day , donuts and many more. This company truly cares for their clients as well as employees. 

Do not work at Partners in Parenting . It is a dead-end job with zero room for career growth or professional development. Management is completely disconnected, providing no support while treating staff as replaceable numbers. The high-stress environment and lack of communication will quickly ruin your mental health. It is not worth the exhaustion—save yourself the trouble and look for a more professional agency in Ottawa.

Partners in Parenting is a fun and rewarding environment. It can be challenging at times but that's to be expected when you are supporting individuals who need assistance with their care.  It is so rewarding seeing the growth and changes the clients make and knowing we are a big part of that success. If you bring concerns forward they are always willing to meet with you.

Theres not even enough time or space to write all the things. 
The management is their own club. 
They only care about their own self, the money that the client ms bring in. They don’t care about the clients well being. The staff well being. 
They let a manager, who is known to be obsessed with a client work with that client. 
They hide things from the parents. 
They don’t do as many health checks as they should. 
Its just an overall joke of a company. 

I have worked with Partners in Parenting since 2009 and the time has truly been some of the best. This is a group of people who work hard, care about their employees and take steps to show it. Employees are not overlooked on all levels and I have seen first hand the lengths the management team goes to in order to ensure their staff are well supported, trained and encouraged to grow.

low pay, unsupportive management, gossip, challenging behaviours 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Lots of gossip and cliques. Toxic environment. Feeling excluded 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing care routines. Activities. Typical errands

I really liked the clients at Day Program and some of my co workers. Management is very critical and will nit pick at the smallest things. Felt like I was at school again when I would do or say something and it would be told to Managment.
