I currently work at the Regina Pasqua Hospital as a Unit Clerk. My typical day consists of processing doctors orders and performing administrative and clinical duties under the direction of physician. 

Administrative duties include but are not limited to, processing physician orders, filling out requisitions, sending paperwork to appropriate departments, assemble and disassemble charts, chart vital signs, file reports, imprint charts, request, pick up and return Medical Record charts, complete applicable paperwork for admissions, discharges and transfers maintaining medical records, filing, photocopying, faxing, e-mails, laminates, collate shreds, pickup and delivery of mail/specimens, maintain petty cash, sort and distribute reports, obtain death/birth registration and health number assignments, compiles bed census/statistics, and order supplies.

The work environment can be quite hectic and overwhelming at times as it is always busy and there is always something that needs to be done. The team I work takes the edge off of the stress of out busy days as they are a fun and outgoing bunch. We like to joke around, bring treats for the staff and order in takeout some days to create a fun and friendly work environment for each other.

Team work and all the technician is very helpful

I don’t see any stress here, everything is well organized 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very respectful to each other and humble 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s a cycle which goes dirty to clean and just follow the same instructions.

I worked in the communication center and would answer patients who would press their button in their bedroom. Some needed help, other's would need pain medication or a blanket to make them more comfortable. After answering the phone and speaking with the patient I would page a nurse to their room number with a quick explanation as to what they needed.

Management does not care about is employees.  If.you call in sick more than 3 times a year, even if you have the flu you're getting hauled to the office in HR.  they will ask how can they help.you.   how can you help me not get sick when the place is so stressful?  You can't even take a mental health day.  They are counting.  And they dont care about you.  So dont share your personal details.  Mean to employees.  STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

A very fast paced and fun place to work with a great union. Get to work at variety of stations everyday. Longer and more hours with increasing seniority. Great management with a balanced staff and decent amount of work load everyday.

The Pasqua Hospital was my first job in the medical field before going back to school. I enjoyed my co-workers as well as all the management staff. I was fortunate to work along side some amazing people which made this job feel like I wasn't actually working. I was able to maintain my required duties while having high moral.

I love working in this hospital. Most of the senior nurses I work with are very good people. I feel belong and I am respected even as a new nurse. I enjoyed working with the people here, they do not make someone feel small.

New people get drawn in to the negative environment quickly for survival. Training is like a test to make you look stupid. Existing staff are over worked and under appreciated and take out their hostility on new staff. "I had to put up with it so you can too!"
