A typical work day at Paul Davis Systems for me consisted of a lot of data entry and creating files, logging them on paper and then filing them into the computer. Before working for Paul Davis I didn't know anything about data entry or creating files and that job helped me learn how to be better organized, although I was already rather organized going into that job, it definitely enhanced those skills for me. There was a great relationship in that work environment between not only the co-workers but the supervisors as well, everybody had fun with each other but when work had to be done everybody worked well together and stayed focused on the task at hand. When I first started there it was a bit challenging to get into the swing of things and make sure I was filing things correctly but once I got into it the job wasn't very challenging but was still enjoyable as I kept busy everyday.

A typical day at work would never be the something as the previous day. There is always 4, 5, 6, different people working on someones home. I think it should be stabilized. I learned a lot about demolition to the persons home and a lot about reconstruction to a persons home. The management is not the greatest, like I said it's always bouncing around from place to place when one should start and finished the work needed. My coworkers are great! There is only one problem to this situation. Out of 15 people, only four are over the age of 20, only two of them have schooling. The hardest part of the job would be absolutely nothing. The most enjoyable part of the job is strictly demolition or reconstruction. Nothing else.

Driving company van daily to job sites, evaluated damage done to the insured residence, tear-out of basement and walls effected, installed proper equipment for the evaluated damage.

Learned appropriate procedures to deal with flooded homes, and how to use proper equipment for the job.
The hardest part of the job was making sure no extra damage was done to each home, to take in consideration of sentimental property.
The most enjoyable part of this job was learning all the different skills needed to completely tear out a basement due to disasters.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Helping people in need . Makes you feel like a rescuer. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Upper management were penny pinchers . Only thoughts were on profitability.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
High stress environment, phone rings all hours of the night , might end up travelling far from your own home for work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
8 hours clerical work, doing estimates . Entire business is based on a stop watch, the quickest company gets the most work.

Busy during winter and spring season. It's a physical job, more on lifting, packing, inventory and cleaning of customer's belongings that need to be stored in the warehouse for 3-6 mos while their place is in repair or under renovation. Co-workers are friendly. The hardest part is when you encounter an upset customer. The most enjoyable part is when the upset customer turned to a happy customer because they realized that we didn't cause the problem, instead, we are fixing their problem.

Very busy work place, learned a great deal of material about the restoration business, my co-workers are very nice and work as a Team, the hardest part of the job would be not knowing about the jobs and a client call and I wouldn't  know what to say to them, and the most enjoyable part of my job would be greeting people and co-workers in the morning, and helping then get started by giving then information about their job for that day.

I was hired on to be full-time, permanent, told we had tons of upcoming work.

After two weeks of intense work and horrible time-management by those in charge, I was basically out of work. Plus, it took more than a week longer than it should of, for me to get paid.

If being late getting paid wasn't bad enough, there was no word on more work for another 2+ weeks after that, during which I found employment elsewhere. I then received a text asking if I'd be able to work the next day. Too little, too late.

Great pressure is placed on finishing under budget and within time frame, insurance figures assigned to restoration projects are not aligned with current cost of materials. Co-workers were great to work with. Experienced several levels of asset loss to clients and was able to build professional relations with them. Direct supervisor could have been more supportive for professional development and more emphasis on safety culture (very lacking)

This is a great place to work with a great management team and crew.I have learned how to dry clients homes after they have been flooded and learned how to secure homes after a fire or some other disaster.There is some heavy lifting and some demolition  that can be hard work but that's what makes the days fly by. The most enjoyable part is helping people get their homes and lives back into a normal state.

At this job you get people from all walks of life, so different personalities. Some of these people you will like, some you won't. Mitigation management is mismanaged. Project managers, some are great, some are dumb as a rock and shouldn't have their job. There's new stuff to see at every job you go to, new people as well which can be cool. Overall I had a fun time, but over the course of 5 years I found many frustrations.
