My job was assistant manager. Having come from the main high St retailers. I thought it would be a similar role to work in . 
My contract said 39 hours + any additional hours to complete tasks. This wasn't as they said. Your hours turns out to be 45/48 every week. Not just as a one off but perm. You never get the time back. So your work/life balance is corrupt.  Your pay ends up being the national minimum wage by the time you've finished your hours and jobs.
I observed regional managers speaking down to customers during a model store floor move which they did during open hours. The whole shop was turned upside down with other managers doing floor moves as well. Customers did complain and all complaints fell on deaf ears. Customers walked out after not being able to get around. I was embarrassed at this as no other retailer does this during open hours. No manager that I saw was anywhere near helpful to any customer. 
They have a test shopper windows where everyone is told to be top at c/service. And that's the only time so the management team can get what looks like a good result. 
This is a lovely company selling great clothes .They have already gone bust once. I think they are heading down the same route if they don't consider the pay structure and the customers points of view.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I loved working with all the staff and helping customers with what they need I lived the job and what I had to do 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Probably when i had to use the till for the first time but I got used to that and after that their isn’t anything that I can think of 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly and supporting even when my anxiety was up the support that I had is very much appreciated. I’m sad that I had to leave as I was moving 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Friendly, and sticking up what’s needed with the staff help and also help the customers when they ask for anything

typical day taking in deliverey of goods, processing in warehouse then onto shop floor into correct sections, working on tills & assisting costomers with goods, keeping own section clean & tidy.
Friendly staff who were always willing to help.
Hardest part was porobably the deliveries as i was the only male working there i had to deal with them because of all the heavy lifting but that didnt bother me as it kept me busy & if they needed a hand on the shop floor if it got busy they just gave me a call.
the best part was keeping busy & helping the customers with the choice of goods.

I am currently contracted at 4 hours per week. Everything runs smoothly and the way the store operates is excellent, with stock rotation and how people are assigned to every job in the shop. It was very handy to have everyone knowing to do a variety of jobs as no work is left half done. Training was also very good. The salary is low but it is expected as I am part time, but I do not know what hours I am getting from week to week which is hard to plan or save for something I need.

Would not recommend at all

Senior retail manager no support barely answers the phone unless they want something. Negative attitude who complains more about the company 

You are made to work 45 hours plus a week no pay. No payrise, stressful negative environment 
 
Nothing is ever good enough 


I Enjoyed My Work Experience At Peacocks The People Was Friendly And I Enjoyed Working There The Manager Was Very Nice To Me And Other Staff Members I Enjoyed The Experience There If I Had The Chance I Would Do It Again

They push you to progress, staff and management always willing to help. Pay could be better, especially for management. Good staff discount along with uniform allowance


Underpaid. Boring. No progression. Insufficient products. Poor management. Outdated and tired. Needs a total reboot.

a fun and fair environment to work in, a good employer. always understanding incase of an emergency. always payed on time

Because we was a small shop it did get busy. I liked to put clothers on the shelf
