Know your value. If you know you’re worth more than minimum salary, don’t even bother with this place UNLESS you’re really in desperate need of a job (as mentioned above). 

Otherwise, you’ll just get over-worked and over-stressed for silly reasons and with no opportunity to either move up or to get a salary augmentation. 

Just the fact that they hired me with no interview process should’ve already been a huge warning. No qualifications needed, apparently. 

You’re even worse off if you land a position in the shipping department... you’re given an employee’s union handbook and most of the content mentioned doesn’t even apply to the workers in shipping. 

Very old-school work ethic/mentality and very outdated technology. A bunch of “penny-pinchers”... We’d receive “new” materials, but they turned out to be just second-hand materials shipped from the warehouse in Vermont (while the Vermont warehouse ACTUALLY received brand new materials). 

The only reasons I even bothered going in were 1) I was in desperate need of the job at the time and 2) to see the co-workers I actually got along with. 

I’m so glad I got myself out of there.. literally, the only thing I left behind there were the friends I made. They’re actually really happy and excited for me that I was able to find another job away from Peerless. Heck, at my new job, I’m essentially doing the same job that I was doing at Peerless. But this new company is SO much better, even if my salary is only $2.00 more than my salary at Peerless.

I'm heartbroken that a company like this still exists. They exploit immigrant workers for low wages. There are workers in their shop who make minimum wage but have been employed with the company of 15+ years. I worked in the office so my conditions were slightly improved but still I had a shrill boss who threatened to fire me (and everyone else) on a daily basis. I wish for a better life for everyone who works there. They have a lot of talented and lovely people trapped there. Also, the designers were told that if they left for another position Peerless would black label them through the entire industry...so there's that....

What is the best part of working at the company?
The fact that you could buy suits for cheap somtimes

The fact that half the people there are working hard and the other half are slackers. And they’re all making the same salary

Half of the people are cool and the other half are snobby

A staple in the garment manufacturing industry, Peerless Clothing is a great place to work and learn. It is clear that almost everyone cares about the company and the owners as much as their job itself.

I had a wonderful experience.  The people are friendly, the bosses were great.  They have amazing medical benefits.  You get 3 weeks after 3 years not 5.  Learned many skills especially on Momentis system and Gmail.

There's no Air conditioning in the shipping place that we work in, which is makes it really humid and dreadful during summer. The co-workers there we're really friendly and came from all walks of life. Some were students, other were older people.

-Employees are very nice to each other
-Some days can be very busy and some days are pretty slow
-It is very organized
-Everyone helps each other out
-They have a big cafeteria

It's a fast pace work environment.
Never boring,there is always something to do.
The hardest part is the beginning on learning everything about the procedures of the company.
Coworkers are very friendly and supportive.

- opportunities for alot of new comers

It is a good environment working area but the salary is not enough for living. Moreover, it's kind of a boring job since we have to keep doing the same thing for everyday.
