fast pace enviorment working steadily management was great and very helpful. Co workers were exellcent to work with and management was always rewarding when deadlines were meet. hardest part of the job was the weather.The company was respectful and help you with any required training that you needed to do your job safely.The schedule was ten days on and four days off, the travel was a little stressful at times due to the 7 hour drive and the weather conditions. Every morning we would have toolbox meetings to discuss the work schedule for the day and any concerns that anyone had.The safety on site was good with the officer being on site to ensure that all safety concerns were dealt with on a timely manner. Also we took part in a reward program where we would complete cards in the morning to nominate anyone who had done a task safely or had caught something that wasn't safe.The morning meetings were important to have to ensure that all issues that arise at any given time were discuss and dealt with as soon as possible

Paid accommodation and that is pretty much it 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The employees don’t know anything about the job and most aren’t even traded and putting together wind turbines is dangerous. Especially with these workers!!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good! No management. Most days you didn’t know if you had a ride back to the hotel not to mention what time you’d be leaving at the end of the day. The employees liked to stay late even when all the tastes were finished for the day and it was past quitting time

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very unorganized. That’s why nothing ever got done properly because no one knew what they were doing from day to day

I worked a few different jobs for Pennecon 
Gerry Adams was my boss and an excellent person to work for 
He was a good listener and we respected each other 

My co-workers were super good men to work with - if we had any problems of any sort we would take a few mins and discuss the problems and fix them - most of us all boarded together so at night we would sometimes talk about things going wrong on the job and what we needed to do to correct them 

Ive been working in the crushing industry for 20 years - I started as a crusher operater and when the opportunity came about i was given a foremans job - and i have been doing it since then 

its hard to explain a typical day at work because no day is the same - different things happen all the time but its definately a job i love to do

I enjoyed that when I was less experienced than I am now, the management staff with this company had a confidence in me to lead my own team and do independent work. Through this company, I learned to interpret blueprints, and be a more effective leader. One of the more challenging aspects of this job was leading a team with members of varying ages. Even though I felt as though I was growing through the experience, it did present a challenge with some of my co-workers who felt I may have been too young for the job. However, this only presented a greater challenge for me, and with the helpful support of my management staff I was able to thrive in the position.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Everyone was very nice from the workers to the superintendents, always there to help if need be.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part was,Being away from my family.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was very dirty, but that wasn't pennecons fault it's just the nature of the beast in the line of work in an iron ore concentrater. But the company was there with all the proper PPE for us and made sure we had what we needed.


What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up at 4 get on the bus at 5 start work at 6 take normal brakes, finish work 4:30 and have a chat with friends at camp until 7 ish, go call the family and go to bed

Begin work early in the morning, arrive at work site with foreman, Once I have arrived for work its time to get geared up for what the day has ahead.
Starting my day by greasing the equipment, making sure everything is at its best operating conditions. preform any and all repairs to equipment that may have loosened/ broke within last shift. keep an eye on the crusher plant to make sure the job is running smoothly without any issues. within this job I have learned great communication skills, and team player skills to help me in any future endeavors, also learned to keep attention to details. all in all the most enjoyable part of the job is by far the chance to receive a lot of experience in my trade as a heavy equipment operator and getting some hours on the equipment.

There was no stress for with the company my years of working with much experience I can say there was no stress for me.

Last job with penncone environmental was not so much culture was great

As iam a pipefitter a typical day is much challenging ever is something different for me

The management and staff were always there to help us with anything we needed

Nothing that I can think of as it was managed well with a great bunch of men working together

Safety comes first and enough time is given to ensure that a quality product is delivered the first time as to prevent rework 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Tool box talk, gathering your tools and safety equipment then starting your task while keeping safety in mind at all times

The days wouldn't be too busy until projects kick off, then the days would become quite busy. A workday could include data entry, document control, and using software to edit and calculate on PDF documents. There was free coffee and the co-workers were helpful and friendly. The hardest part of the job was the occasional time constraints which may require you to stay and make sure the work is done. The most enjoyable for me was the regular work and the helpfulness of coworkers.

Working with pennecon was a pretty good gig. Put us up in hotel rooms and also gave you a pre diem fir food everyday. They set up and paid for all flights so you didn't have to do it yourself which was great. I found that the workplace was pretty relaxed and safety was up to snuff which is the way it should be. You have the opportunity to drive some equipment such as telehandlers and bobcats if you have your certification.The management and supervisors were very easy to get along with and will help you with anything.
