A typical work day for someone who works as an order picker the day begins early in the morning at 7:00am and finishes at 7:00am, during this time frame a 15 minute break period is alloted and a half-hour lunch period. The work routine at People Store begins with finding scanners assembling the cart with baskets and accquiring labels to do your work. During my time I have learned that working at a warehouse is not easy and keeping yourself in shape should be a priority regardless of what type of job you are doing. Considering that the job I was offered was a temporary one with part-time hours not much can be said with regard to my co-workers, as there were too many employees at the warehouse and as for people in management  they had very limited time on their hands to know all the employees in the workplace, considering most of my co-workers including myself were there for a very limited period of time. The hardest parts of the job were: to keep yourself going (physically demanding), even though you may be tired and keeping track of the items not being found in the aisles or skids as the case may be. The  things I can recall as being enjoyable is the company of the people I had during my lunch hour and being able to have three days to myself to relax. Nevertheless I was fortunate to have started my employment journey with them when I was in need of a job.

I use this company from time to time,  and have  had nothing but bad experiences!   

I have been misinformed on numerous occasions about details of employment contracts. 

People Store has failed to inform their client (the employer) about notice they received regarding employee absence. Leading to termination by the employer. 

People Store had offered me a job to and then notified me hours later of the contract being 'no longer available'.  Which was later determined to be a lie as the position was offered through another employment agencies. 
-I was denied employment at the new agency for the same position the People Store said was 'unavailable' do to 'not showing up' for the position when The People Store offered it. -clearly they were misleading me and not communicating with their client.

After endless attempts to work for this agency and having poor results EVERY time ... it's clear this company is unprofessional and should not be in business .  

I recommend you put your financial well being first and seek employment elsewhere!

Was assigned a position at the 100 Metropolitan Road location, and prior to commencing the position, was asked to come in for a 3-31/2 hour orientation. 
      As it was a warehouse position, they have several departments , 
such as Inbound/ Outbound shipping, scanning, packing , loading , etc. 
      They DO NOT TRAIN YOU at all !!! My first  "START" day, after about 3 hours , they pulled out all of the people who were "first day" 
employees, and advised us that we would be sent home, after only 3 hours claiming they were too busy to train us. The following day , upon commencement of our assigned shift ( still  having received NO TRAINING whatsoever. to at least familiarize one with the different departments , procedures, use of equipment, etc) you are told 5 different things on where to go, what to do, by 5 different people .......... by individuals that they classify as supervisors  ( also a BIG JOKE ) Have never seen in my entire life, such a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.............TOTAL 
CHOAS, simply a pathetic display of ridiculously  POOR ORGANAIZATION !!

Your day is planned as you drive into work and in a instant everything changes as you put out fires, coach, cajole and do everything in your power to ensure the clients needs are met while respecting the workers and their needs. Management is supportive and encourages work life balance to fortify us for the days when it is just not possible.
Our workplace culture is professional and yet relaxed enough to be able to go at 110 MPH. The hardest part of the job is really trying to meet the needs of everyone while not burning out; this is when the good job, that was a terrific find, I couldn't have done it without you, your amazing is like music to your ears, you might have hit the wall but you keep on putting one more step one more phone call until the magic words are heard WE DID IT
The most enjoyable part of the day is coming through the door and you know there is no other place I would rather be or any other job that would be as rewarding.

I loved working at People Store. We were a small team so very busy, a lot of phone calls to take and to make (practically full day on the phone which should be expected in this kind of recruitment role), but we were pretty close and friendly with each other. The manager at the time was fantastic and I felt like I could approach her at any time with any issues. I left because of the after hours requirement - unlike other agencies People Store had their daytime recruiters monitor emails and phone calls after work hours until 10pm. Not ideal for work life balance as sometimes clients will reach out in the evening to fill recruitment requests last minute for the next day and you will spend your whole evening making calls to the database, name by name, until you find someone willing to work short notice. If you like to keep very busy this is the job for you! 

It was not the best or most enjoyable job, but nonetheless it was a great experience. Might be expected from working at a warehouse, but it was long hours and very early in the morning. Typically 10 hours a day from 7am to 6pm and occasional start at 6am. I am sure the place is quite nice when it's not excessively crowded. Was working close to the holiday season, so there was a redundant amount of people. Which made checking in and out longer than needed. Especially for a lunch room that typically fits around 50 or so people to over a 100 and with given lunch break of 30 minutes, its always rush to finish. Overall, I learned may new skills with the given time I worked there, so it was valuable.

My husband works for People Store Staffing and assisted me in getting an administrative position through one of his long standing clients. 

Upon working there for a 2 week contract, it was extended to 3 months then 6 months at which point I was promoted into a SOX compliance accountant. It is there that I received training in cost accounting and now am currently in my current role as an accountant pursuing my CPA.

It is through People Store Staffing and my affiliation with them that I am now on my current career path and achieving goals that I had set out of myself. Sometimes all you need is an organization like People Store to open the doors for you.

Great company to work for. I have been working with People Store Staffing for almost 4 years now. Started off as a Recruiter, and given optimal opportunity to prove myself. After some hard work they built a career plan to help me move towards my goal. I now work as a Team Lead of Recruitment Services and am loving it! I get to manage a team and at the same time work towards bettering myself and my branch. The culture is built on growth! Very open management where you are able to voice an opinion that matters. Keep on doing what you are doing!

I have been working with People Store for more than a Year as an on-site recruiter and it has been a wonderful experience. Being on-site with my client i have learnt a lot professionally and personally. I have worked as a recruiter before joining People Store, however working here, I have gained experience not just in recruiting but also in doing payroll, on boarding new hires, daily reports and many other different aspects of HR which i learnt in school. i like working here.

Best case scenario, you get a pay check. Realistic side of things: hard work, demanding supervisors, lack of communication between employees, hazardous people, ( I watched people constantly run stop signs and not give a care about others) it’s a first come first serve style place. If you don’t look out for yourself you will be left behind. There is so much going on for a new person that it can be quite intimidating. Being mandated and sent home after a couple hours is nonsense, and working fridays as a afternoon employee is a joke. You will never get a full shift on Friday. Proceed with caution when applying to this job.
