When I started there was variety in my day to day tasks.  After a while my tasks were limited to a few and it stayed that way for months. 
I was in the kitchen, all day, by myself with nobody to talk with. I had my phone for company. My supervisor came in sometimes, to talk with me, but not everyday. At the end of the day we all cleaned up and went home.  

I learned nothing of value. I learned to cook a few menu items. 
Management lied. They told 1 of the guys I worked with that he was going to take over when the current kitchen manager retired. They lied to him. The job was never his. I had several conversations with the two guys I worked with and both were ready to walk out the door several time before they actually did. 
The hardest part of my job was showing up everyday and pretending I was happy to be there- I wasn't. 
I most enjoyable part of my day was going home and not being at work and the day they fired me!

I don’t know what made working here worse . The health and safety, the management or their methods of operation. Everything is old and out of date and they will straight up touch your food with there hands before they give it to you to move things into place making it look “better”. They bring garbages from the customer bathrooms through the kitchen to the dumpsters. They HAVE ANTS IN THERE POP MACHINE. AND KNEW ABOUT IT . We even had a cup you had to use before you would pour customers there drinks so you wouldn’t notice any ants.. terrible place.

Not the best place to work manger is not the nicest person, he yells at you rather them coming to you and talking  like a normal manager should. The employees need to talk and communicate better during busy shifts. needs the employees to talk  to communicate better. Hours were ok pay was not the best for the amount of work you had to do sometimes not everyone is treated equally there is favouritism there between employees.

Fast paced at times but friendly

Not a place to grow . People around you are racist

When someone yelling at you. Criticized instead of training

Discrimination is  rampant. People are racist

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
None at all. It feels like you don’t wanna come for work

A typical day at work was pretty simple for a standard cook. Prep your veg and sauces for service and then everything else was ready for you. I learned basic knife skills and how to make it through service successfully. Another thing I learned was time management. Everyone was very friendly and the most enjoyable part of the job was that they were eager to help me learn.

I’ve worked in other restaurants before and never have i had such a horrible experience then when i worked at phils. The FOH staff were friendly enough but the management and BOH staff were hostile and rude most the time. You feel a lack of belonging working here  and the staff “room” was an absolute joke. Was beyond happy to leave this place. 

Working at Phils Restaurant has taught me to work well in a fast paced environment. I learned to grow as a individual and work well with others and alone. Having to interact with others and make customers smile was the best part of the job. Overall the workplace was fun with incredible co-workers whom i got the chance to work with.

it was  good  place to work for and it was  also  fast  I  earned  9.50 plus the   tips the hardest part  of this  job was always  sundays  for it  was the most  busy day there the  enjoyable  part  was that  I loved  the  discount  on the  meals for your breaks

I would walk into work, get greeted by my co-workers, get dressed and sign in. Once I would sign in I would go over to the dishwasher, rinse the dirt dishes, and place them in the dishwasher. Our store manager was nice and respectful, resolved situations easily and efficiently.
