Working as a busser at Pickle Barrel was an okay experience overall. The job itself was straightforward, and it helped me improve my teamwork and time management skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Most of the staff were friendly and willing to help when needed, which made busy shifts easier to handle. The restaurant could get very hectic during peak hours, and sometimes the workload felt overwhelming, especially when short-staffed. Management was decent but communication could have been better at times. The schedule was fairly flexible, although shifts occasionally ran later than expected. Pay was average for the position, and tips depended heavily on the day and team you worked with. The workplace was generally clean and organized, but some shifts were more stressful than rewarding. Overall, it’s not a bad place to gain restaurant experience, but there are probably better opportunities out there for long-term growth and better work conditions.

There is a 4% Tipout for servers and 1.25% for bartenders the tipout the bartenders recieve is about 5$ a shift for making everyone's drinks if it's a Monday morning or a Friday night.They will take advantage of you, Management is very lazy for FOH if you're looking for BOH the kitchen manager is so nice and she cares a lot. There was more work than it was worth the more customers allowed in the restaurant the less money you made per shift the sections kept returning to 2 to 3 tables. There isn't many reliable staff, all any FOH manager does is sit on a computer or in the office There is no direction they aren't running the floor and there always 6 hosts on that do nothing but take the Tipout. 

The staff members are amazing. Management needs alot of work. Clearly the managers that are rude to their team members. Expesscially the one that fire without cause and red flagging so the dont have an opportunity to find a workplace. The amount of disrespect the cook gives to the women staff members they work with is disgusting. Absolutely will refuse totworkwfforforfdisrespe

Pickle Barrel allowed me to strengthen my people skills by constantly dealing with customers and customer problems. Typical day I would arrive at work and instantly begin helping the servers deliver food to the restaurant guests. All the co-workers were easy to get along with and made my time at the restaurant very enjoyable. The hardest part of the job was getting to know the 300 item menu so that I could relay info to customers in regards to ingredients that were in each meal.

Working at Pickle Barrel  was good because I was always around food and kitchen appliances needed to prepare the food. The management was good and did they're best to care for there employees and customers. The hardest part of the job was being able to communicate and be friends with other Pickle Barrel employees. I enjoyed working with kitchen appliances I wouldn't  normally use at my home and new methods of preparing food that I wasn't taught while attending secondary school and post-secondary school.

Worked here for several years. It slowly went downhill over the last year, until they announced our store was closing. Head office just left us to dry. HR ignores emails. The Operations Manager didn't communicate with anyone. We were all promised transfers to other restaurants and now that we're closed, no one has heard a thing. 
Working as a server/bartender was good though. It was decent money and usually busy. We had a good team and everyone mostly got along. 

At Pickle Barrel I learned how to multi task and do multiple jobs at once. I'm a server with in the night I can be a server/bartender/food runner/bus boy/desert. It gets pretty crazy and with doing all those jobs all at once I feel if i were to be given an opportunity and be able to focus on one job, i can excel. Especially in an establishment where they recognize and acknowledge hard work.


I have enjoyed working at the Pickle Barrel.
It is a fun place to work.  I enjoy working with the
staff and well as serving our guests.
It can be stressful when busy but at the end of the
day it is well worth it. Unfortunately our business has 
declined in the recent year and my shifts are being cut 
drastically.  I am now looking for employment that will
be more stable.

During my time there they had issues with management and accountability. There was a lot of good people working there and potential for great things. A lot of people got tired of the workplace drama and just moved onto different employment. Overall if I had an opportunity to go back I would! 

Menu was always evolving and changing. Guests were given real fresh food in a upbeat atmosphere. Associates were the back bone to the success of this evolving menu. Skills were needed across breakfast,lunch and dinner revenue periods.
