Unfortunately in the time I worked here management did not allow for any independence, even when shown I know how to do my job very well. The hovering on people just trying to do their job is awful. Of course though when it comes to the tough conversations to be had with customers, management wants nothing to do with the solution and you’re on your own. Management has inappropriate conversations with fellow staff. The staff within the office make racist comments about customers and the owners are known to be awful to employees in the workplace. Very underpaid for the amount of work expected to do, only thing that made this job somewhat tolerable was the smaller staff who were on the same pay level. 

The management on the retail side of Pillitteri is a joke. They have absolutely no idea how to create a schedule and are either overstaffed or understaffed, there is no in-between. 
Managers at Pillitteri harrass the staff and often make inappropriate comments towards them, and when they inform head office the situation is ignored. 
Micromanagement is a joke and they will threaten to fire you if you stop working for a short moment. They then proceeded to tell you that it's the best job in the world because you earn lots of money. 
Avoid at all costs.

Adequate job. the majority of folks here are lovely but the work lacks agency and you can be constantly undermined by management and the family. The few bad apples here have an overwhelming capacity to spoil the bunch which is sad because most  here are passionate and down to earth.   would not recommend for anything longterm but I would recommend as a job if looking to dip a toe into the wine industry or maybe just build character as i can assure you this job will build your threshold for the amount of criticism, demeaning remarks and instability you can handle 

There's insecure people who work here who feel easily threatened. If you're a person who just wants to make money, not-ambitious, no post-secondary education, lacks confidence then this place could work for you long-term. If you're someone that's smart, educated and ambitious you will encounter backlash and jealousy so this is not the place for you.

My ratings and pros/cons list says it all lol. I do not recommend working in the office at this particular winery. The pay is horrible and the owners are very stand-offish, they basically ignore you and give attitude unless you've been there awhile (from what I've seen). Nepotism and the baf pay with no benefits is not worth any self-respecting persons time. 

Not once did I ever feel appreciated, receive encouraging feedback or compliments despite putting 100% into the job. Owners and management never gave any positive feedback or compliments to the staff and treated everyone like a workhorse. If this place wants a positive work environment, maybe try showing actual appreciation towards staff once in a while and show actual respect to those who come in with a great work ethic.

A great place to work. Staff is great and do their best to make you feel welcome if you're new in your role. I was set up to succeed in the position I was in and it was never a problem to ask questions if I was unsure.
The environment was the best part of the job. The people you work closest with get to know you and treat you like family. Lots of support in every aspect, in and out of the office.

The management at this establishment is a complete joke. I was often times constantly micromanaged to the point where I would receive a phone call every day at one point about what I was doing "wrong". I was harassed and made fun of on multiple occasions by managers and heard multiple horror stories of even worse things like this happening to other employees.

Upper management does not listen to employees. You are expected to be nothing more than a work horse. All that matters to the owners is the profit coming into the company. Any problems brought to managers or HR will not be resolved and you just have to accept it.

Provides me with all the tool I need to be successful in my role. Any request or needs I may have are always taken into consideration. Staff incentives help creative a fun, competitive work environment.
