Part of the fish department. If your new you got a decent amount of training to do scrubs(cleaning fish aquariums) sponges, moping, so on so forth. Always lots to learn especially when there is new inventory or you never seen that type of fish before. 
Management has its moments. Its not perfect but no job ever is. There will always be some issues. Personally never had a problem. Granted I am a little thicker skinned and can take a lot of criticism.
Hardest part of the Job is sometimes the customers. You do get nice ones on occasion other times you deal with some quite rude ones who just don't listen and think you they know better then you because they did their online Wikipedia research or had tanks all their life.
Enjoyable part of the job would be the staff/friends you make there and the random customers who come back looking for you for help advise.
If this is your first or second job not a bad choice. You will learn a lot. If your going for the fish department you will get wet and somedays quite dirty. Change of clothes will always be handy to have slip resistant shoes or semi waterproof or resistant as well.
Also learn to let go an try not to hold a grudge. You may encounter customers who just really get under your skin.

Pisces Pet Emporium is one of the best places to work if you love to work with animals and people. There is no pet store in the world like it. It is the second Largest in the world. Pisces has an amazing team of people who are there to help you right away. Just working there you felt connected with people and their pets. Right away you have customers who will only come to see you. Because you build their trust. The best part was learning about a bunch of different animals and doing tours through the store on a regular basis. Daycare and school children would come is small to large groups and staff would lead them around the store to see all the cool and wonderful animals we have. Next step would be to call Pisces a zoo. We had everything but the big guys. Pisces will always be one of the best places to work.

Anyone who rates this 5 stars to work at must be a manager trying to increase there ratings. You know this place is absolutely horrible when different people are starving the same thing about working here. Management and owners are the worst. They don’t care about you and how much you try, you will yelled at all the time and belittled. I mean every single manager is trash. You would thinking working in a pet shop would be a fun and positive experience but not with these nut headed clowns running the show. Stay away if you can you will hate your life!!! People need to stop shopping at this store, there’s so many other pet stores that treat their employees with respect and it shows. Pisces is the most toxic place to work at

Anyone who complains about work here has 0 work ethic. You literally just have to put in 20% of effort to work here. Managers do their job, you can just get on their bad side if you're lazy and have no work ethic. 

It is a store, not a "play with animals all day" job. Of course you have to do tasks. 

Most employees are pretty good but some can get lazy, making it feel like you're doing more work than you should. 

Raises come on reviews if you're simply doing your job. You definitely have to be a "people" person, employee and customer wise.

Honestly a solid job, I do like working here. Bonus is being around cool animals and learning about new ones that come in.

-Most enjoyable part is working with animals and sharing your animal passion with customers
-If assigned jobs aren't done even once, you risk loosing your job
-Current workers on fish side are miserable. No one ever feels like your friend or someone to get along with
-Management can be hard to approach
-Hardest part of the job is meeting managements possible standards
-Like every other pet store, they kill animals, witnessed a lot of animal neglect in the reptile room

Lunches are way to short for how busy the store gets,
You will never get a raise and they will constantly complain that the company doesn’t make any money, which is a huge lie. Management makes plenty of promises they can’t keep or never intended to in the first place. You would think working at a pet shop would be a fun and positive experience but it’s realy the complete opposite. Staff are shady for “sales” they don’t even make commission on, it’s a gong show tbh

I don't even know where to start with the company. The middle management tries to excert unreasonable amounts of control on employees. The amount of gossip the spreads around is insane, often pushed around by the managers themselves. The fireable actions of certain employees get swept under the rug. While other normal actions get punished. Also there are unreasonable sales goals, but what for? There is no commission on anything. 

For someone who loves animals and helping people find solutions to life’s little problems, this job could be wonderful for you. It’s hard work if you have the right work ethic, but you’ll be respected by your coworkers and customers if you do. This company runs a certain way and has certain policies and if you do not agree with the management style or company policy, i’d simply suggest respectfully resigning.

I hated was how horrible the managers were, they set these impossibly high goals and would eat you alive if it wasn't done absolutley perfect. 
Another thing was that if your new, it really feels like all the staff is a family, except for you. You tend to feel left out and out of place unless there are some other new people on board. 
You also barley get to interact with the animals

When I worked there years ago.
No training. newbies had to be stuck on 'deadfishpatrol.' menial tasks were assigned to look busy. place falling apart 

The more I worked there the more I had been assigned stuff I didn't agree upon the initial interview such as being a janitor. 

Work culture was super gossipy.

Being here next to many animals that weren't being taken care of due to costs made me really sad.
