At Piston Ring my days were fairly easy, the first thing i would do is start the delivery vehicles and get them ready. we would then unpack the inventory and sort the parts according to the invoices, after that i would deliver the parts to the corresponding shops and go back to the store. if there were not any more deliveries to be made i would start to put inventory away in numerical and alphabetical order, while at the same time checking the printer for more deliveries to be made. in the afternoon i would make a trip to rainy river to drop off parts to shops in Emo, Barwick, Stratton and Rainy River. when i got back i would wash and gas vehices so that they were ready for the next morning. i got along with my co-workers very well and i enjoyed making them laugh. when i started at Piston Ring i did not know one thing about auto parts or vehicles so it was all new to me and i learned many things. the hardest part of my job was trying to get all the parts out to the shops in under 12 minutes each. the part of my job that i enjoyed the most was being able to socialize with many different people through out the day.

When I first started working there back in 2014 it was very simple.
But over time and time again of me asking to be moved to a different position with more pay they kept putting it off saying i should wait for review; yet newer staff have been cycled to better positions. nothing happened for another year until I gave them an ultimatum of me quitting or giving me the position Ive been asking for.
After a year doing well within the new position, they moved me again to a mess of an area to work in and gave me negative feedback after not doing my job as fluently. This company likes to reward their employees with more tedious work and give them negative criticism.
Unless you plan to kiss/blow rainbows up someones rear end or are related to someone within administration, expect to not be treated fairly.

Mediocre pay, lousy benefits (NO SICK PAY!!). As with any sales job, some customers very good, others complete nightmares. Store manager was easy to deal with, with an appreciation of needing to find a work/life balance, head office staff not so much.

This job is best seen as a stepping stone for someone out of high school, or in need of a job immediately. 
Work culture at Piston Ring is awful, with managers expecting you to give 110% all the time, and prioritize quantity of work over quality of work.
The only safety training you will receive is Transportation of Dangerous Goods(TDG), and forklift training is reserved for those who management likes.
Casual attire, but a high-visibility vest, or fluorescent coloured shirt is required. 

Management is two faced if your not in their click you don't stand a chance. If your off on Comp 2 many times and thinking about going on short term disability they will let you go. Harder for the newbes they seem to push them a lot harder. Benefits you get when your Full Time, but AFTER a yr of being there. LOTS of favortizum there. Min wage to start .25 raise a yr if that

Underpaid for the work you're doing in the warehouse, management won't listen to complaints/ideas even when something is serious. Hire very questionable employees. If someone is doing something wrong, usually management looks the other way. 
Not safety oriented, have unlicensed operators for the pickers, steel toes aren't mandatory. There is also a low key racist/sexist vibe. Only work here if it's all you can get.

During my time I found that work environment around the store was good with the employees ,you had different clients coming in all day which for the most part created a that happy place .I worked mostly on the road with a more first hand face to face environment of owners running shops that enabled me you gain a lasting friendship.

this job is great for just starting out , but if you want a career , then this isnt going to happen there. lots of friendly staff , but the amount office politics is incredible. Lots of favoritism in the entire company between management and higher ups. Seems the female staff don't get equal opportunities as the men do. You work hard and don't get recognition for it or it goes unnoticed.

Depending on who you work with this can be a great company. A lot of long term employees which speaks well but at the same time a sense of entitlement can creep in. Often no defined structure and some get their way more than others but if you do a good job and mind your own business it’s a decent place to work. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great people and never a dull moment plus they always make you feel like you’re part of the family. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I would say the traffic when you’re on delivery
