The job started off well, I was a site representative overlooking a wide range of tasks for Pitney Bowes. I was told of great opportunities to move up within the company and I thorouhgly enjoyed thriving in my duties. A few months in I was stretched across a couple other sites to cover lunch breaks. My manager then invited me to an event which turned out to be a pyramid scheme enrolment. I thought it was odd, and I politely declined to participate. After that things completely changed. About a year after starting with PB I was moved to a different site with a lot less responsibilities, I was now answering phones but there were opportunities to cross train, which I embraced whenever I could, and I moved up fast. I was still expected to cover breaks for 2 of the other sites but the domino effect of running from one site to another, and then another meant I was always late getting back. I was also told to be quite about where I was going (covering breaks) and my wages were threatened. I eventually left for another opportunity but I couldn't have been happier the day I walked away.

It was required to aggressively target and penetrate key accounts including competitive wins. I would generate new business opportunities by cold calling and prospecting within my territory. It was key to maintain professional relations with current and prospective customers via telephone, email and face-to-face communication. In order to maintain quota the ongoing organization of my sales funnel and monthly forecast was crucial. The reach quota, I deliver comprehensive sales presentations to key decision makers as well as design and negotiate contracts. What was enjoyable was the freedom in the role to be your own boss as well as being able to develop new solutions based on customers needs. It was a very competitive industry and making sales calls is a must.

A typical day at work includes hours of conference calls, providing ad hoc support, meeting project deadlines, collaborating with team members to reach a consensus on various business decisions, troubleshooting various systems/issues and contributing to the overall operational efficiency of the center.

Challenges include time management and low employee morale as resources are spread too thin to cover all critical requirements. Employees are expected to incorporate more and more tasks into their current role that were previously assigned as separate full time positions. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is working with a great team of people and having agile flexibility.

A typical work day was enjoyable and at time frustrating because I couldn't help all the clients all the time.
I've learned various PC programs.
Management was great, they were always available to help with any problems that arose.
The hardest part of the job was that the wait time for other departments to assist the client/customers.  Most of my clients were very annoyed with the wait time,  so I managed to have them continue their work and keep me on speaker until I was able to connect with the other departments.   They were very appreciative of my customer service.
The most enjoyable part of the job was going home at the end of the day knowing that I was able to please a lot of people with their problems of the postage meters.

This was a temporary position during the postage rate change period.  

A day's work involved the company's clients making inbound calls for assistance preparing and updating their postal machines to be ready for the upcoming new rate changes and then to confirm that the machines were successfully updated.

Learned how to handle call centre phone inquiries.

Management was a wonderful group of people, easy to speak to and always willing to listen and help me at all times.

Co-workers were helpful to each other and loads of fun.

Management staff always positive and provided us with treats and had weekly contests and other incentives. We were constantly motivated to do our best.

Pitney Bowes is an organization that is finding its way through the decline of its physical mail operations and moving into a digital world.  For the most part, they are succeeding and should survive another 100 years.

Like any organization, during periods of transition, new talent is brought in, not necessarily understanding the business, while old-time stalwarts cling to their positions and block progress.  

PB will find its way through this period and will emerge successfully in a world that bridges physical and digital commerce.  

I'd recommend Pitney Bowes, however be aware that like all large orgranizations things move both quickly (change) and slowly (progress).

What is the best part of working at the company?
The great customer service experience with sales over the phone , and the  wonderful staffs that I worked with 


What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When a customer would give you a challenge over the phone with arguing about their  stamp  product they  buy from the company

Great  work environment, fantastic staffs,   Good  sales  experience  working  together as a Team . And also a safe work environment 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Alway looking forward in  work with my customers and great staffs

I dealt with escalated customer issues that required strong analytical and problems solving skills. I enjoyed working in a environment that was committed to providing exceptional customer service to our clients. We achieved customer satisfaction by working with one another as one team. The hardest part of my job was not being able to solve customer's issues all in one day, in some case's some account needed extensive investigation. The most enjoyable part of my job was establishing trust with customer's and solving their issues in a timely manner, and knowing they were satisfied with the end results.

A typical day at work is completing defect reports with a deadline. Worked independently and as a close team. Processing orders on a daily basis and also multi tasking on a day to day basis. Worked month end hours to ensure sales reps received their commissions and ensuring customer receives equipment. The Management and employees are amazing, always willing to help when it is needed.  I enjoyed working for Pitney Bowes. Was an amazing experience from a learning aspect and the employees as well.

I loved the people I worked with here and the manager at our location is a truly awesome guy!

I learned how to use peoplesoft and even found a faster way to receive with the program.

I disliked the attitude of the higher management, they were quite derogatory and unrealistic in their expectations

The hardest part of the job was keeping up with the amount of stuff going in and out.

The most enjoyable part of working here was not only my co-workers, but the people at this location. They made it worthwhile coming to work every day.
