Pizza Pizza Limited

There's so much to say about this company so let me just summarize it for you:

Staff: The staff are very friendly, kind, and if you are new they will surely guide and fill you in on things that you are unsure of. Just make sure that you have somebody that has been there for more than 3-4 years, or else, you'll be poorly trained.

Hours: Pretty flexible for staff unless you're applying for a management position. In that case, you will be expected to give 1-2 weekend day(s), and a max of 4 weekdays. You must brace yourself for long hours. Your hours usually run with the maximum of 12 hours or even more (especially if understaff). 

Management: It used to consists 3 operation managers. With now one remaining, I fear that the management has gone poorly. Believe me, if you do get hired there, the (veteran) staff can vouch for me. Staff feel incredibly neglected, especially during this pandemic. (So, I bid you good luck)

Benefits: Surprisingly, the management do NOT inform you that you are eligible for benefits, unless you ask. Benefit package is pretty decent, though.

Salary: Cook/Cashier: $14/hr, Assistant Manager: $15 starting, Head Manager: $17 starting

Workplace: They usually give a schedule (will be discussed below) with your starting time and work location. You will be working at various locations, such as,

- Scotiabank Arena, BMO Field, Coca Cola Coliseum, Budweiser Stage: short hours, heavy work labour/tasks, sometimes short staff
- The West and East Beach: decent hours (max of 10 hrs), rarely busy
- Road trip: Hours vary, heavy work labour/tasks
- CNE: long hours (max of 13 hrs), hectic

Schedule: Provides a 2-week schedule with starting time and location, no ending time given. Request off has to be given 2 weeks in advance, my suggestion would be 3 weeks in advance (with no guarantee of approval). 

Staff meal: if you work for:
3 hours- 1 slice of pizza
5-10 hours- 1-2 slices of pizza
Staff water and pop have to be paid: ranges to 0.50 cents - 1 dollar

In relation with the Pizza Pizza and Pizza Pizza Special Events, it seems like this branch is the black sheep of the family. I don't think the CEO even care about the staff and management that works here. There are no staff appreciation nor any recognition from the big boss. Sad, really.

To sum up, it has its pros and cons, especially when COVID ends, you'll get the hours you need (if that's what you're searching for).  If you're just coming out of high school, this might be a suitable job/first job for you. But, if you are in college or a mature applicant, please do yourself a favour and find another hiring company.

Advice: Always be vocal and don't be afraid to ask questions or even refuse tasks you feel unsafe with. Initiative is key, with it you learn and expand your knowledge.

This job was very experiential for me, we are just one big family well dis-functional family. I usually work the morning shifts and Friday evening shifts. Usually on a Tuesday morning I will go in count the till, turn all the heat lamps on and open the door. Then we have the school rush and well if you cannot handle this on your own well this is not the place for you. Those kids are sneaky. We had to start giving them a number for their receipts and checking them off when they got everything because they'd come back and try to get their fries, pop or dips for free by saying we didn't give it to them. And then at the end of my shift I fill out all the paper work for that time period. My co-workers are an amazing bunch, we have a tight system. I have had so many laughs with them. The cooks are hilarious guys they always love to put on hip hop music as they call it and dance, it makes the customers laugh and smile; it brings fun into the work place just so that we all have a good day. Now the hardest part of my job is well the hours and when OPG messes up a pick order and the customer is upset. I hate it when my customers are upset because when they order through our telephone center which is OPG they expect their order to have came through to us and made. If you are looking to work at Pizza Pizza and are expecting 8 hours a day and 5 shifts a week well turn around and walk the other way. I get maybe 12 hours a week if I'm lucky, I get 3 hours a day. and I get Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays off. You cannot live on this income. A tip for the wise do not go into a job thinking you will be getting a lot of hours and a huge pay day every week or every two weeks because you will be leading yourself down a very sad road. I love my job don't get me wrong but I went into it thinking I was going to be getting 8 hours a day 5 shifts a week. I do have 5 shifts a week but I do not get 8 hours a day. I only have 5 shifts a week because I was promoted to senior cashier after our last senior cashier quit. 
The key to a successful experience in a work place is to always keep a positive outlook and never quit when you think you do not think it is going to work. If you are going to quit make sure you secure another job before giving notice.

Working at Pizza Pizza has been a great experience, it does have pros and cons but often that depends on management, I've been fortunate enough to experience both good and bad management so I can honestly say it has a lot to do with ones experience on the job. Typical days working at Pizza Pizza are pretty easy going though they can get stressful during rush hours. In my personal opinion if you are looking for something new all the time, you will not really find that here. Once you've learnt and perfected everything it will get boring and very repetitive. I love working at Pizza Pizza and it has been an amazing experience with amazing new people all the time, however it isn't a job that will make you rich. It is the perfect job for anyone looking for an easy going as well as fun job, however through my experience the shifts are pretty long and not always convenient (10am-9pm,+ 5pm to 12am during the week and 10am to 9pm + 5pm to 3am on weekends with a few shorter different shifts if you can get those.) Depending on the store and management,  as well as your own work ethic and so on, getting a job and keeping the job really depends. I've learnt many different skills on this job, problem solving, team work, management and more, there are many different challenges throughout the days and so many different customers that make these skills very important and I'm very happy to have learnt these skills through working at Pizza Pizza. The best thing about Pizza Pizza is definitely the people you meet as well as the overall experience. Though it's not something I could do my whole life it is somewhere I am very happy to have worked.

This is my first job, and I quit it. 
Not happy with it at all. 

Pro:
1. You receive your pay cheque on time. 
2. Your coworkers are nice and they don’t hesitate to teach you and guide you.
3. Easy to apply because they are hiring eagerly.

Con:
1. Your schedule is NEVER fixed. You are forced to stay 30min-3 hours longer than you scheduled working time, maybe more, but not less. You barely finish on time. The manager even text you 1am in the morning to come earlier. If you don’t see the message (because you are sleeping), you take the blame. 
2. No lunch or dinner break OR no break at all. They keep making you do stuff. Whenever you are not busy, you have to make boxes or cleaning the store. If you want to work full-time like 8 to 10 hours a day, good luck to you.
3. You pay for everything. 
4. Food is not free. No free meals. You are not allowed to take a break anyways. 
5. Cameras everywhere. If you want to work under crazy surveillance, here’s a real life 1984 for you. 
6. Stressful atmosphere. Whenever you are new to the store or you have been working there for a while, people put so much pressure on you. They continuously urge you to work faster and make you do things out of your capacity. 
7. Long hours. I started last week, and they made me work 4-11hours a day minimum, six days a week. Sometimes there’s only me in the store, not knowing how to use the cashier, nobody helps, and of course, I have to take all the blames. 

Well, you get an idea of what will it be like working there. If you need this job so badly that you do it or you die, here’s a place for you (at least you get your pay on time). 


According to the work experience as Cashier to Manager in Pizza Pizza : 
Opening Account and Closing Account: handling cash at the end of day i.e. Recording the Sales and expenses  
Taking orders: I have excellent skills regarding sales to customers. Handling any type of conflicts between customers and employees. Serve costumer better service. satisfying customer by giving them best deals according to their needs 
Ordering Inventory: weakly inventories should be ordered to attain profits. inventory should be ordered exact according to the sales to avoid from being over-inventory.
Payments to Suppliers: When inventory are received, payments to suppliers according to the amount of inventory ordered.
Supervising other Employees:  I always try to maintain perfect and safe environment. I always listen to all employees needs and queries.

Management of Pizza pizza is very co-operative.
Pizza Pizza Stores are very busy related to orders we have to make. 
Pizza Pizza stores are very friendly. 
The stores are always kept clean
Shelves and racks are properly stocked and products do not fall off the shelves.
Mannequins are kept at the right place to attract the customers into the store and rotated frequently.
The merchandise should be according to the season as well as the latest trends.
The store is well lit, ventilated and offers a positive ambiance to the customers.
The signage displaying the name and logo of the store is installed at the right place and view able to all. 


Working at pizza pizza was an experience to say the least. The location i was at was a very high volume location. Management was poor, and there were many times where we were left understaffed and overwhelemed. It was great in the sense that you can learn how to problem solve very well and communicate effectively with unhappy customers. The experience differs from location to location but my overall experience i would have to say was a little less than fair. 2 Stars.

I got along with most of my co-workers, they were all very nice and helpful in stressful situations. After a while they were like the "work family" everyone looked out for each other. The hardest part of the job would definitely be the feeling of being overwhelmed. I used to work nights there, I'd start at 5 and finish at 3am. The busy time is usually seasonal. Its pretty busy during the summer and simmers down in the fall and winter, after Halloween. The hardest part of working there would definitely be the feeling of being overwhelmed. 

My job as the cashier didnt stay at simply taking customer orders, it extended to making all the sides for them and back orders (Delivery) as soon as possible. Some of these items include: Salads, All fried items, pastas, sandwiches, slices, chilis, poutines, and more. Often times it could get so overwhelming that we'd fall behind. We always did the best we could in a stressful situation and usually always found a solution to any problem. 

**OVERALL 2 STARS**

I worked for a very short time at a pizza pizza just recently. When i was hired i was told i would not be paid for my training. At first i was ok with this but i later realized that the manager there would do whatever he could to make me continue to train to get free labour out of me. The training itself was horrible. The reason it took so long to train was because there was no one to teach me. They told me to practice the cashier first thing and when someone came to order a pizza they told me to do it myself. No one had sat there and told me what to do. Only after i struggled and was not able to take the order, the manager taught me a few basic things about working the register and how to place orders, the rest i learned on my own. The management was sleazy and cheap. They all were very unsanitary. They would not wash their hands after using the mop for example and then roll dough.They made me do things i was not even supposed to do such as roll dough for example and when i rolled it incorrectly they would get frustrated. Only after working only 1 full shift they told me i was not needed anymore and that i was going to be paid less than minimum wage (a cheap 8 bucks). I was frustrated with the fact that even though i constantly asked the manager about my pay he did not tell me about how much i would be paid until after i worked just a few hours. Overall, the work experience was horrible and i would not recommend working at pizzapizza to anyone.

They had a lounge with wifi for employees and I don't think I've ever had better bosses.  As a CSR the managers are in the same position as you: all of the complaint calls go to them so their job is even more stressful. Because of that, they work very hard and they're not just hovering over you telling you to do as they say not as they do. The pay is a dollar more than most jobs in this category. They are an equal opportunity company...one of the few places where you can keep working even if you have a broken leg or (in my case) a healing back injury. The people there were amazing and hilarious: it was a supportive work environment with no back-biting. When another employee was working through personal issues, one of the managers took her aside in the back office and talked her through it, and she kept her job.  It was like extended family. 

BUT 

They have a rule that EVERYONE has to work until 4am with NO EXCEPTIONS on New Years Eve.  so even after being there two years and working many night shifts, I was fired for getting the flu on New Years Eve and having to leave work early.  I didn't miss my shift...I got sick in the bathroom, my supervisor saw that I had a fever and SENT me home, but I was still fired.  Obviously I wasn't faking.

Working at the Limited company, I mostly greeted customers in a polite and friendly manner. Often I was asked to handle complaints and customers concerns, wrongful order intakes and fix the issue accordingly to the company's policies. 

 Every day I found my self responding to customers inquiries of daily specials and promotions. While working at the Pizza Pizza franchise, patience, was one of the key to success within the company. Especially when dealing with difficult matters and very upset customers. The opportunity I gained from working at this franchise as well was extending my knowledge with flexibility and how to cope with long hours. Although getting along with every single peer might have been one of the biggest task, I've learned that respect goes a long way and acting appropriately while working together is the easiest way to stay on positive and common grounds. 

 The best experience that I've got the appertain to is enjoying conversations with many different individuals and engaging with plenty different cultures. I love that each customers need was met after each call and that they were satisfied, also believe it or not they also helped my day pass along just great.

A typical day started for me at pizza pizza at 10:00am every day from Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 6:00pm.
I started with cleaning the counter area and windows and then helping with kitchen staff for arranging the food and beverage boxes and then serving the customers and getting their orders one by one with pleasure.I had learned how to work in a team nicely and how important a teamwork can be and how a friendly environment   is effective for my job improvement.Of course a good management is very very important to run the job smoothly.Good relationship with co-workers is as important as other factors in a teamwork and I always tried to behave friendly and politely to them.Actually the hardest part of the job was the times that some anti-disciplinary and disorders   happened in the store and the long line of customers complaining about and we were in a distress situation!And most enjoyable times was the time when most of the customers were satisfied,the orders done on time and my manger smiled at me!
