Your experience at this company will largely depend on which department you're in—each one seems to operate by its own rules, with no consistent leadership or structure across the organization. There’s no real sense of unity or shared direction, which makes everything feel disorganized and inconsistent. The work environment is noisy and distracting, with little effort made to support focus or productivity. 

Management is, unfortunately, one of the weakest aspects. Feedback is often ignored, and there's little interest in improving the day-to-day experience for employees. You're expected to accept things as they are, no matter how frustrating or inefficient.

While the company promotes its so-called "Pollard Perks," most of them feel more like surface-level benefits rather than things that genuinely make life better for staff. What employees actually need—better communication, meaningful support, and respect for their time—just isn't there. They also boast an environmentally conscious mindset, so why do so many of us have to drive in every day?

I truly wish the company would listen to its people and make changes that reflect what’s really needed.

I was offered one month of training on a Multilith 1250, after which if I could work effectively on my own the job was mine. After 3 weeks of training I was on my own. The job entailed printing personal & business checks for banking institutions. The printing presses were unique because they had a second stage that included numbering attachments that printed the check #'s in red and the sequential numbering in magnetic black ink in line with the branch and account #'s at the bottom of the checks.
The division of Pollard Banknote was so successful that it was bought out by British American Banknote and moved to a new facility in the area. The new company was called Winnipeg Banknote.

The workplace culture at this company can feel heavily influenced by favoritism, which affects morale among employees. One of the biggest challenges is communication between management and line workers. Many employees feel unsupported and unheard when concerns are raised, with limited opportunities to provide feedback or discuss workplace issues.
There is also a noticeable disconnect between management and production staff, especially considering the long physical shifts employees work. Interactions with supervisors can sometimes come across as overly critical rather than constructive, which creates a stressful environment for staff.

Each shift started with communication and job allocation for staff. Tool box talks, trouble shooting equipment, communicating with management, writing up  incident reports, and collaborate with HR in any investigations. When required write safe work procedures,  operate machinery as well as keep quality with in customer specs. Each shift ended with recording shift production, problems, solutions, what worked well, and breakdowns in the PA log book. Verbal communication was key both for outgoing and incoming shifts. The overall thing I took away from this job was accountability.  Co-chair of Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Good Team work & Good Job for life as well as for body too. We learn too much about job. It is very confidential production job. A typical day was our last day at the job because we did not want to leave it. Overall Management is good. It was not hard job compare to other company, like reliable hours, break time, lunch time all manage good. I like Saturday pizza party. Most enjoyable day, moment & part I would like to say that, one day some tickets was missing, so on that day all employee from Finishing workers to Supervisor, up to two days we found tickets from big garbage bins. That was awesome day. I would like to do work again over there.

If you work hard, the company will recognize your effort and will be rewarded for it. If you put in just enough, you will coast through just fine, but do not expect any opportunities for advancement. If you perform below what was expected, they have no problem finding someone else who would do the job better.

The environment is friendly - I find that if you know how to ask nicely, there will be employees who would be willing to help out. There are also a lot of opportunities for learning.

I wish they provide more vacation days, though. The starting vacation package is too small, and you need to ask for more from your manager if you wish to take more vacations.

Pollard Banknote is truly an amazing company that takes care of its employees, puts employees first. Also, the company looks to help individuals grow their skills, therefore, being able to grow within the company.  Leaders are always available, and the company is always growing which is exciting! 

The company culture defines kindness, respect and safety - areas that should be valued when looking to join a company.  The schedule for Production workers is fantastic, a great work-life balance. 
Pollard Banknote is the footprint that other companies should follow in "how to be". 

Was thrown out with the garbage once my probation had ended with no reason given. I had heard so much praise about how well Pollard treated it's employees, was a super disappointing experience. Pollard clearly did not care about me or my family. Don't expect a long term career here, it's the printing business and they are well into the back 9. Expect a lot of sitting around and watching your ambition leave your body. There are better opportunities to further your career and prosper. This was a waste of time. 

I guess by now management must know folder operators aren't grown from the  end of a shrink wrap line. Absolutely no respect for the honest effort given. My brother put it best, let them Parrish. The place is packed with hacks. You'll always have to rebuild the folder at the start of each shift.When the hackers run into a problem all they do is fill up the feeder with as much numbered stock as they can so you can start your day by unloading it all in sequence hopefully without scratching any tickets. Bathrooms are filthy.

So many incentives to move and learn other things within the company. Excellent training.it feels like the pollard brothers care about there employees. Donuts & coffee or ordered in lunches for staff just to say thank you. Turkey's at Xmas bbq get togethers in the summer. Paid days off for making deadlines. I could go on and on about how great the company is.. 10plus company to work for.
