There are many jobs to do at Pollards however, my job was a management position. A typical day at work involved answering alot of phone calls and/or emails. Troubleshooting and following up on customer issues. Developing, enacting and following up on new policies and procedures set it in place that were fairly new.  I learned at immeasurable amount from working there. Management is decent, there were many who worked on the executive panel some were favorited, others not so much. The culture was a little bit toxic but that's bound to happen with a family business that's shifting into a more corporate style business. The hardest part of the job was the amount of customer issues that just seemed to take a really long time to resolve. I frequently hit walls while trying to make decisions and it was a bit hectic. The most enjoyable part of the job was definitely my direct supervisor and the staff that answered to me. All in all not a bad place to work! 

 I worked with teammates (They worked in Plant # 4 and might still be working there) that made my life miserable, they were terrible people to work with. They made me do the hard work while they got paid more money (due to their experience) while some the same money for doing the easy work that I was getting paid and we were supposed to “rotate positions” so the work wouldn’t be unfair, they wouldn’t let me rotate (the side across from where I and my teammates was working did pretty much the same work that we were doing but they rotate positions , so the work would be fair! The captain from the other team even told me that he felt sorry for me over how my teammates were treating me), they made me do the harder job, while my teammates had the easier job for the same money or more than what I was getting paid.  None of the supervisors cared much about it because I told them that I was literally crying about it, and yet, they still made me work with the exploiters instead of working with someone else. 

I think that Pollard Windows is a fun, fast paced company to work for. They do their jobs and are very friendly people that care about one another. A typical day at work would start off signing yourself in and then working in the plant from there, I worked in the lumber plant so I was finishing the wood, lunch was at a half decent time. I learned that you don't always have to do something that you love in order to find something that you can get use to and amazing people come along the way, you make new friendships everywhere you go. My co-worker were fantastic and helped me through everything on the first day when I did not understand anything. Sorting bad from good wood and making the piles not to high but not to short was a struggle for me but I got the hang of it very quick and the most enjoyable part of my experience was to have fun, make great friends and hold a part of the company dear to my heart

Very stressful always calling you to recycle bins at the welders in very tight quarters..you have only inches on both sides of your lift truck. Glass racks that you carry on your forks can slide off. Management doesn't care about safety issues such as blocked aisle ways and you have to lift full glass racks 12 ft into the air to pass over the objects.  All the employees don't respect the lift truck drivers, run in front of them, walk towards them looking or talking to other employees... You are constantly blowing your horn so all the employees are immune to the sound. Lift truck drivers ride around with propane tanks (empty  or full) on their forks as the plants are far away from the propane station.

Weld vinyl windows in spot welder machines. Clean off excess vinyl left after welding. Paint vinyl windows along weld lines if necessary. Apply glue to the finished prepped window to place the glass window into the vinyl window with glue. Then hammer in window trim to keep the glass in place and repeat over and over again all day every day. Basic window assembly line work. Guaranteed lay-offs during winter every year as company downsizes to save costs. Not good for full-time all year employment. Mostly good for summer work for students going back to school in the fall. 

If you are looking to work full time work on afternoon shift, don't work here.  You are hired for full time but upper management doesn't allow enough work to get through the night.  The floor supervisors try as hard as they can but sometimes it is a losing battle.  Lead hands and Supervisor on shift are great but the stress just creeps right on in every day.  Work culture is otherwise good for the most part but unless you are killing time for whatever reason, don't expect full time hours here unless you want to work days where the culture isn't as great. 


The department they hire you for, is probably where you’ll be forever. Management is so detached from what is actually going on. Management sits in their office and does not contribute as part of the team. 

I don’t really have anything nice to say. I wasn’t there for long. But each day was slow and boring. Not a challenge at all. I could’ve removed my brain before work everyday…. As meshing screens takes little to no talent.  
My department was small. And only half of them worked. 

I left for a much better opportunity. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Room for advancement. Lots of interaction with upper management.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant rotation of new employees which resulted in a constant training process.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Put your head down, do your work, and keep to yourself.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Go in, get brought up to speed as to where we were at production wise, then set the goal and meet it.

Was given 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Bosses were down to earth and fair. It could get hot but extra breaks were given during the tough days.

A typical day included coming to work and sighing in. You were expected to be at your station ready to work when your shift started. You would sign out when the day was over which usually was the same time on the dot.

I was only late once because the bus had skipped me. I called my boss to let him know and he was very understanding. Showed up 10 minutes late, there wasn't a problem.

shipping and receiving dept. needs so much work. management totally turned me off from delivery position. just like high school, your either in with the crew or not, meaning upset management (S&R dept) and they turn theyre backs on you. wanted a minimun month in warehouse before actually getting on road, and didnt have a helper hired or in the process of getting hired to delivery windows.
Just looking from the outside in the issue stems from management. not for me.
