Pool Supplies Canada is a fantastic place to get a summer job as a student! As a full time summer employee, I always found myself busy and the days would fly by, which I enjoyed. This job is definitely fast paced, but was not stressful due to the support and assistance from my managers and team. They work hard to create a positive culture throughout the company and will often ask how you are doing to ensure the workload is not overwhelming. The managers/ company will also often treat us to snacks, donuts, coffee and pizza to show appreciation.

Another thing I highly enjoyed about this company is that they value feedback. My manager often asked for my input and opinion on what is working and what maybe isn't in order to make future processes better. This democratic type of leadership was fantastic to work for and made me feel valued as an employee. 

While being with this company I learned valuable customer service, problem solving, multitasking and organizational skills. I worked at Pool Supplies Canada for 2 full summers and part of this past winter and I would highly recommend it! The full time staff are fantastic and truly help to integrate students into their company during their time here.

PSC has a great company culture, and the shipping warehouse is a fun environment to work in. Typical duties included order processing, quality control, loading (some heavy lifting) and general cleaning/warehouse duties. Friendly and fair management makes for a comfortable employee experience, and the warehouse crew is always a good group to be a part of. There is room for advancement and you will be rewarded with new tasks as you show your capability. Things like tims runs, pizza days and weekly awards really help make it a fun place to work. Hours are consistent and days fly by during peak season (May-July). 

One thing is the upper management could certainly be friendlier as I worked here for 3 summers and they still didn't even know my name. A stronger connection between the higher-ups and the summer students would help employees feel more comfortable. Even going around and shaking everyones hand would help.  

Overall a great experience, but beware of wearing a pink shirt!

The typical work day is physically stimulating but not physically straining. The work hours during the summer are consistent but start to die down by the end of the summer. The type of work requires enough focus to get through the day quickly but also not enough that inhibits you from engaging with people around you. The work is design in such a way that allows you to easily get help whenever you are unsure.

Management is very open minded to how everything operates and are willing to listen to suggestions / problems at any point. Management is very understanding towards employees, and take the time to build a comfortable and fun workplace culture.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the day by day interactions with the warehouse crew.

The hardest part of the job is getting use to the product processing at first, as it's a long line of simple steps that can be easily overlooked, and by the end challenge comes from getting use to processing products quickly and accurately.

I was first hired at Pool Supplies Canada in the summer of 2014.  As soon as I walked in, I felt as though I was part of a family, where I was cared for and supported both professionally and personally.  I returned for 2 more stints after my initial summer.

Even as a summer student, you are treated as an integral part of the company.  The skills you learn at this job are applicable in many other areas, and will set you up for success in your future career. The management goes above and beyond to create a true team atmosphere among all employees; I guarantee they will be the best people you will ever work with.  No matter how physically difficult/busy the job is, getting to work with this team makes it worth it.

Pool Supplies Canada was an amazing experience! I worked there during the summer and loved the management as well as all of my fellow co-workers. I am happy to say I still keep in touch with the many people I have met there. Managers and higher-tire employees are always open for questions. If you have a problem and one person is not currently available there is always someone else you can turn to. A typical day of an order processer includes processing orders, loading the truck if they are backed up and doing paper work in the office! A second note I wanted to make was that I worked at Pool Supplies Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic. The company took health percussions and working there kept my mind pre-occupied, relieving some stress from the daily news. If you are looking for a new environment with great people, working at Pool Supplies Canada is definitely the place to go!

Pool Supplies Canada was one of the greatest jobs I ever had for 3 years during the summer. I started in the summer of 2017, and each year continually got better until my departure in the summer of 2019.

Each day was a fun, collaborative, team effort in order to get product shipped accurately and efficiently. A typical schedule was Monday-Friday 8-4 with the exception of the peak season during the May-July timeframe. The environment was very friendly, welcoming and had an immaculate support system. Management went above and beyond to let you know your value and role within the company, and would show appreciation of your hard work via pizza days, Tim Horton's runs, on a frequent basis. The employees are very knowledgeable, friendly, and I forged some of the best friendships during my time at Pool Supplies Canada.

Overall, I highly recommended joining Pool Supplies Canada if you're looking for a summer job. It was one of the best experiences of my life, and I had a lot of great memories

Pool Supplies Canada was an amazing experience. I worked there for 4 summers throughout my undergraduate degree and had a deep appreciation for management as well as all of my fellow co-workers. The work environment was very friendly and supportive towards every employee. Training is very thorough and supervisors/managers are very approachable if you ever have any questions. For the duration of my employment, the main priority of my job was to route and load orders to the proper carrier. This entailed maximizing the cubic volume in trailers by analyzing and planning loads to minimize freight costs, as well as assuring that the orders were loaded onto the correct carrier. In addition, I was responsible for unloading inbound ground shipments. Furthermore, the work is easy to learn and you learn valuable skills such as problem solving, and multitasking. It also helps with building organizational and communication skills. 

I got the pleasure to work at Pool Supplies Canada for just a little over a year. Over that one year time period this was an amazing job to have and be a apart of. 
The warehouse manager is honeslty amazing he goes above and beyond to always ensure that his staff is okay and if you need anything at all he is always there to talk about anything. All of the employees are very friendly and are always willing to help whenver you may need. The atmosphere of the warehouse is amazing everyone is very firendly, and willing to have a conversation with you. 
The work is very straight forward and pretty easy to follow. Durring our busy season your hours can be longer than other days. 
Over the past year this job has taught me how to work by my slef and to push my slef everyday to acheive the numbers that I want. 
I would higly reccomened this job to anyone!!! 


The workload and pace is dependant on the time of year, however it is always manageable. The management is flexible and understanding. There is always someone available to answer your questions or lend a hand whenever you need it. The best part about working here are the friends you make, everyone is friendly and young. In a typically day as an order processor you scan items for each order, pack them in boxes, and print the appropriate labels. You may be asked to help with other reasonable tasks. During the busier times in the summer the company provides weekly lunches, snacks, and refreshments. Compensation is adequate for the type of job you are working, however i have found it more enjoyable to work here than at other warehouses that i have worked at in the past. 

As an order processor at the warehouse, the job was really straight forward and easy. Warehouse manager always had his finger on the pulse, full of knowledge and easy going guy. Always something to do there, whether it's processing orders, cleaning, side projects.

Team was really good to work with. Usually a bit younger of a crowd but all the work gets done by the end of the day. They do things like free lunches and whatnot from time to time. 

Outside of the summer months (busiest time of the year) the job is typically a 8-4 (sometimes 5) job, Monday through Friday so that leaves for a lot of good time off. If you need sick days as well, their are options for paid and non-paid which is good for those flu/cold months.

Although no longer working there, I would definitely go back should I need something for work.
