I was almost always kept busy. Some days extremely busy but usually had a pace where the day would go by quickly. A lot of people to work with so there was always a change in atmosphere. I already knew how to fabricate from my apprenticeship but we weren't able to use a brake and shear where it would be normally used so everything was built piece by piece. Hardest part of the job I guess was if you hadn't done a certain job before, it would take a while to figure out a plan of attack as well as showing up for work one day and being told there is no knowledge of layoffs being planned and then showing up the next day to learn you are permanently laid off. The most enjoyable was being able to design and finish a project. Most satisfying was the jobs that were difficult but still did a good job at completing it.

Potashcorp NB was a good place to work and I would still be there if market conditions were stronger. As a shift supervisor I was responsible to ensure safe production targets were met. This included daily tool box meetings, key procedure audits, ordering supplies, ensuring equipment was available and in good repair and planning ahead for short and long term projects. A few things I learned at PCS 1) A team effort will out perform a single effort every time. 2) Have the crews get involved in there work, encourage decision making and moving forward. 3) Sometimes we dwell on what is not done instead of recognizing what has been accomplished. The most difficult part of the job was lining up equipment for a task when there was other parties using the same equipment. The most enjoyable part of the job was planning ahead  and being ready for a project before it started.

there isn't a lot of labour work, you mostly operate heavy machinery. I learned a lot about lockout procedures and how to operate scoops and mining machines. management and my co-workers are all good to work for. If you have any questions or need help they have no problem helping out. the hardest part of the job is winding up miner cable by hand because the cable is heavy and physically demanding. My favorite parts of the job would have to be operating scoops backfilling a stope, but I also like rolling up cable because even though it is the hardest part of the job I like the physical challenge.

It was a great place to work . It has a great work culture and the people are fantastic, easy to get along with which made it enjoyable to go to work everyday. Learned a lot everyday on different aspects of mining underground , such as ground control hazard recognition and much, much more. Management was super ,great bunch of guys that treated their men with the up most respect and treated them fairly. Co workers were super always willing to lend a hand if needed at anytime. One of the hardest parts of the job was working by your self in an empty drift with no on else around { kind of spooky}. The most enjoyable part of the job was the people.

I had the pleasure of working at the mine for over 34 years. the last 23 years for Potashcorp. They afforded me the means to raise a family and allowed for my wife to stay at home and care for our three children during their pre school years, which I believe is very important. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of their operation and would gladly work for them again, given the chance.

This company has lots of opportunities to advance if your willing to blow your boss. The back stabbing is unreal. It's who you know not what you know atmosphere. The benefits are great, but that's about it. The pay isn't worth the stress and a divorce. The shift work is long which leaves no time for family life. PCS used to be a family company now it doesn't care if you have a family. Mosaic is the place to be. They care.

The first thing you will realize about PotashCorp is that the safety culture is first and foremost.  They pay competitive salaries and for the most part, provide job security.  That has been somewhat challenging recently with the downturn in potash prices.

I would recommend PotashCorp to anyone considering a career with them.

I liked the teams outlook on safety. First thing we did when we got there was changed and geared up with safety clothing, glasses, hard hat, gloves and ear plugs then proceeded to get our 5 point cards and met at the lunch room to have a safety talk and when done we shadowed our mill operators to there area or work..ei: compacting. then proceeded to help the mill operator with his duties

Provide desktop hardware and software support to over 723 users.  Manage help desk tickets, deploy new or reimage computers, software installs, printer configurations, tracking inventory, Active directory, networking, Thin client support, manage donation program, AD password resets, Lotus Notes and many, many more day by day client issues to numerous to mention.

enjoyed working trades working with other trade groups some of the best trades people i.ve ever seen in my working life and they would bend over backwords to help you on a job and if yiu needed a welder or electricion it was just a great place to work and i wiuld help another trades group out alsop
