• Liaison for communication between plan checkers, drafting manager and project manager
• Mentor and support junior, intermediate and senior checkers
• Work closely with the drafting manager, provide input and responding positively to changes and new ideas
• Support the drafting manager with enforcing drafting standards with both plan checkers as well as drafters
• Assist with performance reviews of plan checkers
• Assist with hiring of plan checkers
• Check survey plans accurately using information in a timely manner, including legal plans, well sites, pipeline
construction and construction layouts
• Check drafted plan within or under projected timelines
• Perform survey calculations
• Commissioner of Oath for legal documentation

In a typical day, I fulfilled drafting tasks by doing correction, creating pdf and finalizing plan and getting things set up for Project Manager Assistant to send out for final. 
I learnt how to interpreted surveyors notes, sketches and digital data.
Managing at our company is not an easy job as we run on tight timescales and limited budgets.
My co-workers help me focus better and make me more productive.
The hardest part of the job is lack of digital data from field. Sloppy Sketch / Notes with lack of info.
The most enjoyable part if the job is i get to learn new thing everyday.

One of the best company I worked, had leave them in Covid time due the lack of work

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Driving. Working. Driving back . Send data to the office

They do the best they can to keep you busy however at times it can be very slow. And when they’re busy you’re always running on their time which can be a hassle. They have good hands in the field but the people in the office don’t seem to care much about who actually makes them the money. Not much in the way of a safety program. Pretty decent benefits but don’t expect much in the way of raises, etc.

Great job for someone who wants to work hard w/o being adequately compensated for their time and effort. You will routinely trek over 5 km a day through bush while packing over 120 lbs of gear if you get stuck with a lazy supervisor. Other than that, if you like to be stuck in the back country with the same coworker everyday for months on end it’ll a good job for you. Oh, and most PPE will be supplied by you.

I have spent aprox. 12 years total working at Precision. In that time I have had many roles and seen some pretty amazing places and wildlife in Alberta and B.C. Over the years I have received both training and support to advance my career. As with any oil field company there have been ups and downs but they have always done their best to keep the core staff busy.

its an out of town job. however, they like to give just 1 day notice for you to go. if you're not ready or you decline because its BS only getting 1 day notice they will leave you at home for 2 weeks.
the party chiefs are typical party chiefs who expect you to know how to read minds. i know more than my party chief does yet he thinks he is better than the superviser.

Out dated equipment, miled out trucks, ownership thinks they are the best out there. They are sleazy drunks, used car sales type, deliverables are poor quality, surveys are poor quality and im surprised ALSA hasnt done an audit or no ones been fined through them because of the way they do work.

It looks good from the outside but once you are employed its one of the worst companies .

An excellent place to work for. Amazing management team with lots of support. Great safety culture, and they provide all of the necessary training. Overall a good place to work for.

Precision Geomatics is a great place to work ,with friendly office and field staff . Senior management is always available to discuss any issues that may arise. They diligently try to stay up to date with wages and employment incentives. Glad to be a valued member of the Precision team.
