Management: mixed bag, mostly drinking coffee and socializing all day, good luck trying to get a raise

Employees: expected to be everywhere on a busy day, not enough help when busy, no incentive to help other departments and chewed out by management unless specifically told to do so

Preston Hardware does not seem like much from the outside or even when you first walk in but they are the nicest people ive ever met and go out of their way to make sure your doing well at work and outside of work as well. I worked hard and was given a promotion soon after working. Their are so many great and fun employees that work there and its really just one big family. Good benefits as well and consistent schedule. The owners are very down to earth people and all in all its just a great workplace.

The rules change day to day and management even admits they're inconsistent 'because they can'. Old staff are rude and even physically and verbally aggressive in the absence of witnesses. Somewhat dynamic and fun but also totally degrading and disorganized workplace.

Horrible place to work if you value your mental health.  Has mid range moral.  Not a job you get excited to arrive at. 

9.5 hr shifts, unpaid breaks, so with travel, your looking at 50  or more hours a week. 

They don't have a modernized system so you'll be left in the dark on occasion. 


If you’re not family, they will treat you like garbage. Don’t expect to be paid for the amount of work you do. HR is a joke there, not even sure why they have an HR specialist. Management will berate employees in front of customers, they expect you to work yourself to the none with a terrible pay to compensate for it. 

while i was working there i did not feel valued for my work and the management staff clearly favoritised staff in front of customers. not only that but one manager once took a cashier to the front door and had a very loud verbal argument while customers were walking in. not very professional.

Fast pace learned alot about paint tools and construction site safety forklift. Work place culture amazing,very family oriented hard part waking up in the morning lol.most enjoyed part friendly environment great workplace 

Little or no Training 
Very poor workplace culture,  breeds gossip and little or no flexibility if you don’t know anyone or are  not liked by management.
Motivated ceo and founders
Poor employee management 


The only way to move beyond minimum wage or so here is to marry into the family, as nobody else gets promoted. They like to hire in bulk, paying as many people as possible as little as they can to fill their aisles with uniforms.

It s an amazing place to work, The owners are friendly and professional and all the staff helps the new workers to grow faster.All the employees are in a very good environment mixed and very well organised.
