Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club

This is the very best employer I've ever worked for in my 8 years of working in this country. The golf course is absolutely beautiful, the employees are very kind and patient, and the work is very satisfying. My job involved driving around the course on an electric golf cart (really smooth quiet ride compared to the gas ones) to deliver fresh water to the on-course water coolers and to make sure that the on-course washrooms were clean and that their supplies were topped up. I was literally being paid to drive around beautiful scenery for most of the day. When I was done with my golf cart duties, I'd be inside the club house washing towels and linens, and keeping the washrooms clean. I had tons of freedom on the job, was never micromanaged, and the staff meals I got there were amazing, especially their club sandwich and lasagna! The work would get very relaxing when it was raining hard and we'd get thunder because I could just cozy up in the on-course resting areas and watch the rain fall on the course until we received the all-clear for the thunder warnings. My supervisor was the nicest and most caring supervisor I've ever had the pleasure to work with. I'll always look back on my time with them with fond memories. Although it was hard work at times, all of the benefits, the kind staff, and the beauty of the area just didn't make it feel like it was.

The job it self was great! The members were very kind at the course! The other employees were great to be around! The pay was good! Learnt a lot of skills. The management was very harsh. Got threatened many times by the clubhouse manager to be fired for no reason and I was treated very poorly by him. Basically picked on me and was a bully. Went home crying on my second day. Didn’t feel good coming into work. The dining room manager was strict but meant well. Treatment of the employees wasn’t very fair.  Make sure you are very very well prepared when coming to work and be ready for some harsh criticism. 

The ultimate reason to work here: friendly culture, unbelievable setting, and company perks (free golf, complimentary staff meal). Although many would say driving outside the city every day would be tiring, it's the least of my worries being so close to the city (only 15 min from SW Calgary). The private-club setting allows you to establish relationships with the clientele (or membership) of which is friendly without the "stuck up" atmosphere found at many other clubs. I highly encourage people to seek Priddis Greens as your next opportunity.

I recieved training on a wide varity of jobs related to turf care.
The Priddis greens turf care staff displayed a level of teamwork and selflessness that I have never experienced anywhere else.
Priddis has a high standard for how their course should look and play.

Great job for someone whose interested in perusing a career in golf course maintenance. Management is really good at changing things up so you get experience in different areas.
Also really good job for “early risers”. Start at 5:30 am and done by early afternoon.

I enjoyed my time at the Priddis Greens golf and country club immensely. The Priddis Greens management team and friendly atmosphere of the grounds crew made the job extremely easy and fun to come in to work for every morning. Working outdoors and getting some light exercise was also a huge bonus to this job.

Management at Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club was lacklustre, manager was boss' wife which did not seem professional. Although service to the guests was excellent, treatment of employees did not seem fair.

The members are great however the servers are clicky and don't have the time of day for new people. Management will always schedule their favorites first and foremost and even take shifts themselves. Tips are added on to pay cheques and taxed so it's not worth the time, effort or drive.

Working in the kitchen is both fun and challenging. I worked there for years and they treated me like family. If you show your dedication and hard work they will keep you for a long time and help you out whenever you request.

Stressful at times but one manager was great. Some of the people I worked with were great but others did not care to see you succeed and did not actively try to help on busy days. Winter is a very quiet time.
