Primary Response

Working as a contacted security guard was an excellent experience, it had me placed from one area to the next from the GTA to Etobicoke working all hours of the clock. I learned real-time, hands on experience with professional and customer service skills, access control to restricted areas and how to keep an updated log of events and track records of inbound/outbound deliveries.

Management and human resources were swift and effective the first time and every time I required assistance and I was always surrounded by co-workers who were respectable and responsible with their duties.

What I enjoyed most was the rare events where I would be challenged to the very ends of my abilities to solve my current and future tasks

they offer a lot of great opportunities but aren't very flexible with employee's. you can learn a wide range about campus security, corporate security, logistics security as well as condominium security but some times you may be a tad bit poorly trained. a lot of great people to work with who can teach you the things you don't get in training. the hardest part about working with them is trying to impress the client and the company but when you do so it sometimes may result in transfers. most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and knowing the experience each individual puts forth. management is filled with awesome people however when times of unfair transfers are requested they seldom defend for their employee's.

With this company serving as a security agent, i learned a lot and gained a lot interpersonal skills. Learned about Canadian culture and people. Also, learned to identify suspicious activities and guard against illegal actions such as violence, threats, thefts, criminal behavior, and regulation breaches.
Monitor and control entrances and exits to and from assigned firm’s premises in order to prevent unauthorized attendance.
Report and document security statuses.
 Actively manage and perform actions required to secure an environment such as patrols, investigations, active presence and operation of security equipment.


An individual that enjoyed working for the company for the whole year. The most awesome day was the first day at work where by I was an hour before to see how the company operated. Working with highly trained supervisors and colleagues I learnt a lot on security enforcement. The management was so good that employees are always informed of current company changes. It was so sad when my boss said she still wanted me to work but at least understood I had to go. The hardest part was balancing college time with work hours but survived though as everything comes with perfect planning. Enjoyed working at an environment which was diverse and at government buildings as well as training new company employees.

If you want minimum wage and a company that is the corporate equivalent of a dumpster fire, then this is the company for you.
 
I have no issue with the site I am posted to, residents are great, site supervisor is great. Primary is terrible. The site was left short staffed for months on end, the people they provided to fill the gaps had no common sense, and were ill trained. If they do not have anyone on the schedule after you, they will not tell you, you will only find out if you call.
They constantly get your hours wrong on your pay cheque, it wasn't until threatened with having a complaint filed did they correct the issue. 
This is the worst company I have ever worked for in any industry.

From my experience of working for Primary Response Inc. I've seen a lot of different, interesting and cool sites, examples would be  colleges and entertainment centers, whoever a lot of condos, libraries, parks as well. On the other side, very low or in most cases minimum pay, long hour shifts usually starting from 8 going up to 12. 0 hours of breaks and rest. Work is mostly evening and overnight. On the positive side met a lot of experienced and professional people on the job and learned a lot. On the negative side, a lot of pay discrepancies, a lot of schedule mistakes, and very poor communication from the dispatchers and Payroll department.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best thing that made me love primary response that they hire me with a client - If client got happy with my work then I still with him and even a group of. All good security co workers love to work to gether and become team to this client and if moved from sites and come another client all these group work together with the new clien

When the work extends above scheduled hours for some subsequent days

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Nobody is. Bothering me by magnifying the mistakes without good cause for this

working at Primary Response was a great experience, you get to work on time and start your daily procedures.i have learned to multitask and how to pay attention to my surroundings. being at 
Primary Response have contributed to my leadership skills, the workplace is warm and welcoming, which allows security officers to be comfortable in their working environment.The hardest part of the job is not having enough guards to cover a particular site and allowing the guards on duty to overwork, then you as a dispatcher begin to have an unhealthy relationship with your coworkers..

A typical day at work for Primary Response is having to deal with the different politics in the work force. I have learned that sometimes the best way of dealing with these issues is sometimes the hardest thing do which is to resign and move on. The workplace culture in Primary Response is divided and could be toxic at times. The hardest part of the job is watching your co workers who have worked many years with you be treated with no respect and quitting the job. The most enjoyable part of the job is working with your co workers who you have worked with before Primary Response took over.

A great place to work and make money if you are into security. Great responsible and understanding people.

Supervisors show up and complete their necessary inspections. Other guards show up and report on time.

If ever the case as long as you are making proper reports in your log book. You can go to the office and add up every minute that you worked past your initial time that you were supposed to end your shift and they will correct their payment in your next paycheck.
