During my interview it was evident this was a professional place of work, but with a friendly small business like structure. I interviewed for shipper/receiver position after needing a career change. Both the supervisor and general manager interviewed me and they both made me feel welcome immediately. When I got the job and started working I was given great training on the job, and was never rushed into doing anything I wasn't comfortable with, which was great because it was my first time in a full-time role like that. 

My coworker that I worked with everyday was super nice and helpful, and we got along great. The same goes for the coworkers in the other various departments at Primary Fluid Systems Inc. Everyone was very helpful whenever I had questions, or just to talk making it feel like a very close-knit team.  Upper management would also do full company team bonding type events to get to know those in other departments, which is always a good sign of good management in my opinion. 

My supervisor and the general manager were also very supportive of me when i told them I was thinking of going back to school, even though it meant I was leaving the company. I was able to leave work to do some prerequisites I need to apply for school. They also were okay with me taking vacation within my first few months of working there. These are all things that made me grateful to work somewhere that respected good work-life balance.

If you're someone that is willing to put effort into your work and into building relations with your coworkers, then you will fit in great here as it kind of has a family feel to it!

At first, this company appeared to be a decent place to work, but that quickly changed.
I was terminated after my car was completely buried during a snowstorm. I notified the company an hour and a half before my shift that I would not be able to make it in due to unsafe conditions, and the message was acknowledged. Despite this, I was called into the office the following day and told I had “no-showed.”
During that meeting, my work ethic was harshly criticized over missing a single day due to severe weather. I was told I lacked maturity and professionalism, which was both unwarranted and inappropriate given the circumstances. The situation escalated further when I was spoken to in a degrading and condescending manner by the owner’s daughter. I was then pressured by HR—who has a personal relationship with her—to apologize. When I refused to apologize for being disrespected, I was terminated.
Beyond that experience, the pay is extremely low for today’s cost of living. Company policies are inconsistent and seem to change depending on who you ask. Decision-making appears reactive and emotionally driven rather than structured or professional. Employee turnover was noticeably high during my time there.
Final takeaway: extreme caution advised.

I worked here July 2019 to August 2020. I didn't have  the issues stated in other reviews, so I feel I must share my view...
In terms of wage, thats only the starting wage. Its a trial period for both you and the company. When you've proven that you're a good fit, then yes your wage really does increase.
Good work is well compansated for, and I was very happy with it!
I actually enjoyed working with my team members and I learned alot of useful things, some of which I was able to use in subsequent jobs. There was actually some training I was looking forward to doing, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic.
It is a clean and comfortable place to work, only occasionally would it get very dirty.
Accuracy is key, so is attendance and following instructions, cleaning up after yourself and putting things back where you found it. Ask questions. If you need extra training with anything, they are happy to help you.
I had some personal, non-work related problems in my life at the time, and then with the start of the pandemic I had severe anxiety, my self confidence was eroded to the point where I felt I could no longer handle the demands of the job, and left for some time to take care of myself.
Your experience may vary, depending on your attitude and ability to remain task-focused. 



I think on a personal level the people who work there are good people. 

On a work level I'm disappointed with management. There is zero patience when it comes to learning. They say they are patient but they go very fast and then say they are sorry for going fast and then expect you to retain everything. It doesn't matter how positive you are. If you make a single mistake you will have your butt handled to you. Only apply if you are experienced and have tough skin. This job will have you feeling defeated and mentally drained everyday. 

On a positive note, the hours are good and you will not be asked to work extra hours. You learn a lot. 

Tiny company, with exceptionally toxic, non-inclusive, and non-accommodating work culture.
Every day leaves you drained and so stressed out.
Miscommunication between departments, nepotism present, and mismanagement in general.
No real, qualified HR to speak to.
Zero opportunity to advance or move sideways.
Zero new transferable skills to be learned.
Wage is laughably non-competitive.
Very, very high turnover of employees, as a result.



PFS is the best place to work! Management is very supportive… after working here for 2 days, I needed 2 days off due to my son needing a minor surgery. Working at PFS, you’ll have a great work/life balance. 
You’ll never feel like a burden for asking questions. You can easily tell a lot of thought & effort has gone into ensuring each employee is set up for success. Anyone would be extremely lucky to get a position here. 

Competency is pretty much all they ask for. Can't think of anything negative to say about them in particular. Great work life balance and the training wheels are kept on for quite a while, as long as you show competency.

Pay can always be better, its pretty competitive. 
Learned a lot about the industry, management is pretty level headed.
Initiative is rewarded. Overall, pretty good place to work.

Being small works to their favour; you'll get to know everyone there, and if you're there long enough, you'll be friends with everyone too. Management cares about you as a person, not just an employee number, and so long as you do good work, you'll be in extremely good hands here.

Unsure about the job. I unfortunately left the job after a week due to personal issues. Seems like a good quite place to work at your own pace if you like that kind of job.
