1) Determine how food should be presented, and create decorative food displays.

18) Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.

19) Record production and operational data on specified forms.

20) Coordinate planning, budgeting, and purchasing for all the food operations within establishments such as clubs, hotels, or restaurant chains.

21) Plan, direct, and supervise the food preparation and cooking activities of multiple kitchens or restaurants in an establishment such as a restaurant chain, hospital, or hotel.

Everyday was different, some days the workload was non-stop, other days we had lots of time off to see the ports of call. Each night though was always a  ‘go, go go’ time as all the passengers were back on the ship and needed entertaining! 
If you have high energy, love being around people constantly and thrive in a customer service role you will love this job. It’s not for the shy or faint of heart as you are on stage and hosting parties, game shows, sports events etc and need to be a organized and charismatic and able to smile whenever around passengers. 
The people you work with will become like family and will always ‘have your back. There are lots of rules and regulations you will need to follow (but as everyone else is also following these it isn’t hard to do). I worked on ships before the pandemic so I am sure some things have changed, but I know the friends you will make and the sights you will see mic you do take a job on a ship will stay with you for a lifetime.

Since I have started working for Princess Cruises , I have chance to meet world outside of my country , and to learn how to work and develop myself in business world. Our managers are at our disposal for any request we had as well as our Head Office . Company is very well organized , and as employee you just do have to answer and be responsible for position you work at. I have chance to work with people from all over the world, people of different cultural background, education and experience. It is also a great advantage , because I have chance to learn a lot , as well as to learn still. Company give me opportunity also to educate myself in any area I wanted , trough on line courses . Working day is organized in shifts, and depends on daily basis schedule made by supervisors. Accordingly to schedule for a particular day (sea day , or port) daily working hours can be longer or shorter. Hardest part of my job are passengers with special requests( because I must have a lot of understanding and patience , to listen and give appropriate promptly answer ), and turn-around day (when I get new passengers on board). The most enjoyable part of job is meeting new people, having opportunity to learn, and be rewarded , to explore new places .
I am just looking for part time job , while I am on vacation, because our vacations are long (up to 6 Months ).

In this ever-changing, dynamic role as an Onboard Sales Manager for Princess Cruises, it never ceases to surprise me how much you have to be aware of and constantly keep yourself updated on the current trends and market.  The cruising industry is constantly shifting in terms of booking metrics and passenger needs and demographics.

Having said that, it is one of the most rewarding positions with immersive experience in consultive sales, client relationship cultivation and being able to sell wholeheartedly, something you truly believe in and can be inspired from on a daily basis.

It is always my favourite to give destinational presentations that inspire the crowd so much that there is always an abundance of clients who will come and book through my presentation.  I love being on stage and feeling the focus the audience has and the stories you love, the information you trust past onto passengers who truly enjoy all the efforts you have put into giving them an experience they will not soon forget.  

It completely makes up for the craziest of schedules where you are autonomous in your position and must handle the crowd that is patiently waiting for you at break-neck speed! I always hated keeping anyone waiting!

This role has shaped me into one of the most diverse and entrepreneurial professionals. It is a humbling experience to meet people from allover the world and walks of life. I'm ready to take on the world!

As a Youth Staff with Princess Cruises, one works in the `Funzone`. There, the children and teens (ages 3-17) can escape their parents and spend time with others their own age. It is a fun place to work if you like working with kids, as you are able to play games, do crafts, and generally have a good time.

The off hours are filled with time off the ship, and onboard entertainment. The starting salarry for a North American in a permanent position is $1100USD/mo. and a raise is provided every two contracts. There is room for promotion, but it is limited in this particular department. However, internal transfers are easily arranged after some time with the company.

The best things about the job is the opportunity to travel and to meet people from all over the world. The job itself can be a great deal of fun, as well.

The hardest part of the job is often to confined quarters. There is also the length of the contract to consider. As Youth Staff, a cabin is shared with another Youth Staff. The quarters are small, and you live with a person you work all day with. Each permanent contract for a North American is between five and seven months, and the company can ask you to extend that time if the ship will be short-staffed.

Overall, working for Princess Cruises was a fun experience, ideal for a single young adult who wants to see the world.

 A typical day at work would start by focusing on the company standards towards safety and work etiquette procedures. Focusing on managing staff and serving guests in accordance with the C.R.U.I.S.E(Curtesy, Respect, Unfailing in Serice Excellence). I learned about being passionate about customer service, and learned a lot's about wine, as well how to handle with "finesse and elegance" large number of crew and passengers during shifts. The workplace culture is about balancing and having a passion about the job you do. The hardest part of the job is about keeping yourself motivated when there is no challenge, plus adjusting yourself to different styles of Management which are in contradiction between itself. The most enjoyable part of work is about being around a lot's of people, serving them in an elegant manner, learning about wine, enjoying the social crew 
 life formed mainly from Europeans people, visiting different beautiful ports of call in the world, and making acceptable money.

I started Princess Cruises as a Junior Assistant Purser which meant that I started at the Front Desk of a busy cruise ship. You can expect to work a minimum of 8 hours, 7 days a week for 6 months. You are contracted for 13 hours though and sometimes the hours can even extend beyond that. Within the JAP role you have the chance to work in various roles such as Shore Excursions Agent, Crew Agent, Junior Hotel Controller, Assistant Admin Officer, Wedding Coordinator and Evening Front Desk Supervisor. In terms of experience it is very enlightening.

However, I have had the opportunity to see many places in the world that I would have otherwise never had a chance to and met some wonderful people along the way. If you have a positive attitude, can work hard and have a lot of energy then this is an ideal job for you.

An interesting job, in which you travel a great deal, meet a lot of new and interesting people, and don't work too many hours when you're in port.

It's also a very seasonal job. On school breaks there are a lot of kids. When school is in, there are many slow weeks.

On a port day, you work 4-6 hours, and if you're unfortunate enough to work while in port, you don't have many kids.

On a sea day, you generally work 11 hours when there are a lot of kids. Depending on your manager (everyone rotates from ship to ship, contract to contract), you may work less hours when there are fewer kids.

Overall, a fun job, but a lot of time is spent away from home and you see the same people every day, as you all live and work so close together. This is great for the people you get along with, but if someone rubs you the wrong way, you're still stuck with them for the foreseeable future.

Working on board ships is very different than working shore side. At Princess, I worked 7 days a week, and between 9 and 15 hours a day. It was a great experience, and I learned a different side of the Hospitality and Tourism industry. It was culturally diverse, in crew and passengers. I worked in different areas, developing different skills, such as the Passenger Service's Desk and Administration. As the Administration Officer, I was in charge of the cabin assignments, and working with local authorities to ensure all paperwork was submitted in a timely manner in order to clear the ship with Customs and Immigration. I made sure that all passengers on board had all necessary visas. As Front Desk Supervisor, I was in charge of 12 Customer Service Agents. I organized meetings and customer service training exercises, as well as proper guiding and coaching to ensure teamwork to keep scores up.

Working on ships generally  means shared accomadation.  There are many facilities that staff members can use such as modern gyms, swimmimg pools,  various dining options and educational resources . Contracts vary in length from 4 to 8 months depending on the department and position. Travel costs, on board accomdations and board are covered ny the employer. All crew are required to take ongoing maritime and workplace safety training. Safety duties( emergency management) are consideted your most important priority. Life on the ship demands that you maintain a highly cooperative attitude in all interactions with fellow crew, passengers, 
shoreside authorities and anyone you interact with in foreign countries. There is low cost WIFI available for the crew so you can keep in daily contact with family and friends
