The orientation was horrible and not helpful at all. It is literally sink of swim. Everything is the RN's fault not the MD (even if you do everything the MD tells you, they will get mad at you).The place is toxic, no team work, very little support. They keep track of everything you do. Depending on what site you are in your experience can vary. There's a huge issue with gossiping. Management isn't helpful, they are very bias and have favorites. They try to push you to see if you will leave or rise to the occasion. There's a lot of mind games and overall it is just a horrible environment. There really is no team even though you are in a team. They'll be nice to you in the beginning and then afterwards you see them change. Everyone is waaaay over worked and way over stressed. Management needs to change. I wouldn't recommend working as a CRC3 at PMH.

UHN in general has been particularly bad lately at keeping up with the market. The people in my field were already well below other hospitals in the area and then the others kept getting market adjustments and we fell further and further behind. Temp staff have no access to benefits or paid vacation, even if on contracts for years. I was a perm, full time staff and I took a one year role, still at Princess Margaret, and was made to give up my status, benefits, etc to take the one year contract, which I foolishly agreed to. HR does not work for the employees and are woefully understaffed and chaotic at the moment. 

I enjoyed working at Princess Margaret. The Work environment is conducive. 
The team I was working with are excellent professionals and the atmosphere fully contributing to achieving goals and targets.The targets and matrix was well met.
I learnt and was well adopted in the routine and pace of work at Princess Margaret.

Princess Margaret used to be a nicer place to work for. The culture has changed. 
Salaries do not increase for research. There is no bonus or appreciation. I am not happy here anymore and would like to leave this company after 10 years of work. It is sad to see that people are unhappy and there is nothing to be done by the management to change that !

Was also the most hectic day of the week for me. I could spend one on one time with my patients. I would draw their blood right there in the COMPACT clinic, instead of them waiting in line in the blood lab. I felt a tremendous payback that day, for all of my efforts and I carry every one of them in my heart with every step I take today. I hope they continue to fight the good fight!

People who work here are great. 
Lots of learning opportunity. 
Limited opportunity for advancement and horrible pay. 
Management does not give honest feedback. They only emphasize the good things but have trouble giving feedback on things that need to improve. 
Older employees that do not do their job often get away with it.

Management could improve. Lots of front line staff that are overworked and consistently short staffed unfortunately.  Recent shift in management has caused quite a confusion in roles and responsibilities. Hard to really focus on specific career goals as there is constantly front line work that needs to be done.

Their staff reviewing system is terrible.  If one person doesn't like you because they are evil, then you are screwed.  Management believes others and doesn't check with you to see if anything is true.  Lots of bullying going on and management allows it if the person who is doing the bullying does their job.

It is a research environment, therefore it is fun and challenging. There are scientists from different backgrounds from Physics to biology and medicine which makes the research even more interesting. However the salary is not great as any other institution offering post-doc positions.

A good place to work with job security and the opportunity to learn new things every day. Amazing staff and average management. You meet new people every day and they are very helpful when needing to leave early for personal matters.
