1. Complete and utter inability to give ground-level staff the ability and power to achieve results then blamed us for the resulting negative reactions. 

2. Long-timers there more interesting in gossiping and backstabbing and claiming they're too busy when matters escalated than in actually doing the work.

3. A husband and wife team up top more interested in maintaining their matching Range Rovers lifestyle than in admitting they don't know what they're doing and blaming others for the business lost. The entire family who owns the company are living proof that business acumen is not hereditary.

ProTELEC offers a large amount of autonomy which comes with a great deal of responsibility and expectations. 
Employees are empowered to make decisions regarding their work, with trust being a key factor at in seeing advancement and success. 

The team is friendly and always willing to help one another, and there are opportunities to learn new things in many of the other departments for these that ask and are open to learning.   

Management is supportive of employee goals and offers professional development opportunities, mentorship, and ongoing feedback to support employees in achieving their goals.

A lot of positive steps have been taken in recent years to do things better at ProTELEC.  Some have worked, some have not but lots of efforts are always being made to do better and to keep us informed.  There is a lot of gossip within the company that does not help morale. People can always complain but very few try to be part of the solution.  A company takes everyone doing their job and contributing, not just a few people.  Its easy to criticize management or staff but ultimately, were all in it together and we all play a role in successes and failures.  I hate seeing a great company and great people get trashed by a few disgruntled people.  So many of us love our jobs at ProTELEC.

There's absolutely no understanding or connection between upper management, mid management, and the guys in the field. Everything flows downhill, and you will always know a day later, when your manager has been getting reamed out from the top. Learned a ton from the senior techs there when I started, but they have all quite or retired because of the procedures implemented in 2021/2022, and the treatment from above. CEO has tarnished his father's good name beyond repair, and I fear they are only going downhill from there.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There was none. No training what so ever with a person. Given a booklet for 3 days and then told to take calls

Not knowing what you are doing because you had no training

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Not good. Everyone kept to themselves

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Awful. Stressful
No help from mangers, managers would not speak to clients to resolve issues

Worst managed company ever.  The HR manager and her assistant hr clerk are awful people that get off on making people miserable.  You couldn't talk to them about anything because they would turn it around and use it against you.  The president was an absolute duck, as were most of the managers.  Micromanagement was rampant here.  Plus, they like to lay people off if they do a good job.  They don't provide proper training and pay peanuts for all the specialized skills they expect you to have. Best thing I ever did was leave.

I worked there for a while and saw first hand how the "right sizing" affected the current staff.  Caused alot of stress.  Staff upset about being short staffed all the time.  A lot off on sick leave, lack of communication & direction by management.  Sold off the residential portion of the business and now letting go of staff on a monthly basis.  A sinking ship, seems the owner & his wife have no idea how to run a successful business.  On the positive, lots of great people work there but that simply is not enough to stay.

A typical day would have me taking calls from customers and handling alarms based on type. The management team was great and really worked hard to ensure the employees had all the information and tools required to the best job they can. The hardest part of the job was the stress of having to make sometimes difficult decisions quickly. The most enjoyable part of the job is the satisfaction of assisting in the protection of customer property.

Workload that is given is unmanageable. Forces people to work more than the time given and does not offer overtime to complete the tasks at hand. When you try to get management involved they are too busy. Does not give any positive feedback. Reviews are put aside. But always has time to give negative feedback, which brings down the morale of the employees. Makes for a toxic work environment. Does not pay for performance.

Was a good place to work like 5 years ago. The new owner is insane and not a good person. Senior staff was let go because they got paid to much and they were replaced with people that have no experience at all. I would highly recommend people on not working here. And oh ya the head of the HR department is the owners wife so if you have a complaint good luck
