Protec Dental

New management has spurred rapid changes throughout the company. Workload can be heavy at times, but you are given much control of how you want to complete the tasks. Minimal micro managing. Co-workers are friendly and helpful. Location in the heart of False Creek. Transit friendly, but no dedicated parking for employees. Work culture is somewhat dated, but changing positively. Communication is challenging between different departments within the company. The technology is be updated. 

I've learned various new software programs specific to operating 3D printers, an internal computer system, and have had the ability to learn new roles and responsibilities since commencing employment.  
The hardest part of the job is being surrounded by fluorescent lights and having to stare at a screen for the larger portion of 8 hours a day.  
The most enjoyable part is that people are generally quite friendly to be around, many friendships have been made, yet always maintaining work ethic as the primary responsibility.

Great Monday to Friday schedule but busy from the moment you arrive to the time you leave.  The management structure is not efficient and once you are trained you are abandoned. The workplace is a great social environment with a lot of long time employees that are good friends.  I came to the company with no understanding of the Dental Industry and as an eager worker gained experience and knowledge I can take with me to future jobs.  I had many great coworkers that shared with me friendship and a vast amount of intellect.

Ever since the company changed ownership a year ago I've seen huge improvements in all areas. Before there was a lot of internal politics and as a result departments and teams were siloed and hardly ever communicated with each other.

With the new ownership, new systems were put in place to foster collaboration among teams, improve processes and most importantly encourage company-wide communication.


Protec is a good company. They genuinely care about their employees and often give gifts and prizes for good work. They are heavy into Kaizen, so if you believe there's an easy/faster way to do something, you get rewarded for your input. They always pay on time, lots of company events (free lunches, xmas parties etc), management is nice. I would recommend this place.

It is a good company to work with.
but there is a lot of mental pressure in the labs and a lot of workflow is forced in a short time spam.
Overall review is ok and upraisals in the organization are not done quiet often.
That is one of the reasons I am quitting.

I appreciated my years at Protec Dental.  They allowed me to grow exponentially in my professional career and cannot thank them enough for the opportunity.  Due to the industry and position, work/life balance was a challenge and needed to focus on my young family.

I would recommend Protec Dental as a great place to gain a range of knowledge and experience.

The managers are really good and the company is growing rapidly. The company is updated with the latest technology printers and software. Office is located in a great location close to sky train.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and people I worked with at Protec. Unfortunately the commute was becoming very trying so my husband and I both made the decision to find work closer to home.

No job culture. Toxic environment. Management pick and chose who they want to support. Loads of favouritism. If you don’t look a certain way it’s a no. Discrimination is real within the department.
