Hitachi ID is a strange place to work. They have some of the smartest people I've every worked with and they make sound technical decisions that often fly in the face of accepted practices. It's a great place to learn how things actually work.

The culture isn't great. Your co-workers will be awesome. Some of the manages are great but upper management can be unpredictable and reactionary.

The hardest part of the job is dealing with management. However it's worth it if you want to always be faced with interesting challenges.

It was an interesting place to work due to the products we sold.   The mining industry has been very shaky the last few years which made many of the positions unstable..   Our company went from 3 shifts when I started to two and then one.   There has been major down sizing the last few years.   We were given a one time opportunity to accept a buyout this past April, or stay and take our chances on keeping out job.    

I took the buy out and although not technically employed at the moment, I am on payroll with all benefits for several months.

The Hitachi team does does an amazing job developing and supporting a super capable product, and has great employee development opportunities. It’s a great place to work, unless you fall under the thumb of a repressive CEO Co-Founder who continuously makes inappropriate and discriminatory comments about other staff. He once commented that one of the top salespeople had to make the money that he did because his wife was super high maintenance, that’s what you get after devoting 29 years?thedibecause

What is the best part of working at the company?
The company has great Salaries and benefits. Management from the US really drives for the culture but Canada sites are not aligned with this yet.                                                          

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Code of ethics not being respected

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic, the company is the old ABB and the culture still remains.....this plant is recognized as one of the most difficult one in Canada

Mostly nice managers, except for two of them who don't work there anymore. Those two would negate all the good in the company (which was otherwise relaxed).

Regular downsizing cycles.

They take a lot of time to do a hiring and they might fire in the probation period if their budget runs out. 
At downsizing times, they seem to pick the ones with longest seniority.

The experience rated above is only for India office Hitachi High Technologies. Since there was no clear vision on where the company wants to be, The work required working on new project everyday and see from which areas to squeeze out margin as the major business was of Tradin

Start with team meeting, planning than execution.
Every day is a good learning.
Good management, giving opportunity to perform with better way.
Co-workers are cooperative.
High curiosity is a hardest part.
More challenge is enjoyable part.

good while it lasted the nature of the job was fantastic, and they treat their employees very well but with the global mining market ,and business decisions from parent company, there is no longer any production at this facility.

Hitachi is good company for work. 
The culture is awesome.. I changed my self &molded me as per Japanese work culture. 
Good facility is available with Hitachi group. 
If I get one opportunity in Hitachi. Definitely I will join again. 

Great company with a strong history, there is room for improvement once employees are given the room to improve. Health and Safety standards need to improve within the company to help increase the job culture.
