What is the best part of working at the company?
Couldn’t give you one… they don’t care about their employees, they are unprofessional, unorganized, last thing on their mind is safety or your personal well being..

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All of it.. they give you no training and expect you to know everything even if you have never been in agriculture before.. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Stressful, worried about their bottom dollar

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Possibly lay offs you never know!

On the good side the job pays fair wage and provides good benefits. Some days are busy, some days are slow, but there is good pace and workload at the elevators overall.
On the negative side the work is sometimes physically demanding, can be cold in winter and occasionally dusty.
Job requires some amount of diligence and care, operations with equipment and machinery, some amount of interaction with drivers and customers.

Providence Grain is compassionate to their employees personal situations.  If you need to leave work early for your child to play a sport or leave to watch an awards ceremony they excel.  I have never worked for a company that allows family to stay important.

typical day at work is unloading grain trucks and assisting in day to day operations which may include operation of skidsteer, forklift, tandem, power tools and hot tools.  You will be required to go into a grain bin and elevator pit to shovel from time to time.  Also required to have enough flexibility in your schedule to load rail cars in a days notice.

The people higher up in the company are rude , they don’t care about anything or anyone. The only thing important is the money. When I was let go it was because my position didn’t exist in the company?? So why was I hired then. Would not recommend working for them. It’s long hours and not enough pay. When I asked for a raise cause I was barely making ends meet I got pushed aside. 

Overall they dont care about any human being. They try to make you go into grain bins without masks. Unsafe work practices, especially at heights. They tried to fire me after 4 plus months for an alleged breach of of my 3 month probation. I told them where to go, and they didn't pay me my last 2 week cheque. This whole company is crooked. Unless you're desperate, need not apply.

The worst kind of job you will ever have, not only do they not train you but everyone is fighting and have issues with each other.  They all talk negative about one another and then are nice to each other’s faces.  Would not trust anyone in management as they don’t actually care about you and just about themselves.  

I get to work with a lot of fun people.  There’s always a chance to learn something new and I work with a lot of really smart people who are more than willing to pass on their knowledge.  Gave management a 3 star rating because I am included in this field and I’m not conceited! 

Although I’ve never been in the grain industry, Providence staff were more than eager to teach me.  This being said I was able to transition their knowledge into my every day life efficiently They have a wonderful “family” structure which makes life more comfortable.  

Unloading/loading, trucks/trains Can be dusty at times but all ppe for those environments is provided. Management is great and everyone here makes you feel welcomed, great place to start in entry level and learn lots.
