The CEO is selfish - he does not care about your personal life or how you help the company. The staff that works there get treated poorly and the CEO does not appreciate his staff in the slightest. He showers the staff with food to make up for the way he treats you. You are treated like a child with every thing you do needing to be approved by management. Receptionists are at the bottom of the pile and the CEO had make it very clear that we were "stupid" to management and did not trust us. They expect you to be able to go to multiple locations across the city to cover for other employees and won't ask, but demand. They will find something they don't like about you or your work to fire you if the CEO or management don't like you. The day-to-day for a reception position was great because you worked with clients and the staff in the back were fantastic. I would NOT recommend working here, the turnover rate is insane due to how the management treats staff. You are and will continue to stay at the bottom due to differences in wages for staff for the same position and there is no room to grow other than becoming management who have to back the staff with the CEO when he doesn't deem something reasonable for a day off for example. Sick days are non existent and they make you feel bad when you cannot control it. I would find somewhere better before considering this work place.

This place is awful to work for. All they care about is making money, and due to that they really overwork the staff. There is a rapid turn over of employees (someone quits or gets fired about monthly). The culture is super toxic, lots of gossiping and overall negative energy in the office. Due to the over working of staff, patients don’t get seen until way after their appt is scheduled. The management is terrible, if any issue arises they don’t address the issue at all. They boast their no drama policy but that is so far from the truth. Drama is constant and never gets properly addressed. If you need help with something most often you have to beg for help, it’s basically every man for themselves, no teamwork whatsoever, the more senior assistants are very entitled and rude to anyone “lower” than them. I cannot stress enough how bad it was for my mental health working here. Please save yourself the stress and find somewhere that actually cares about its staff and patients. 

So here’s the truth about working at Pure orthodontics. I worked there for almost 2 years and my life went downhill. Don’t get me wrong, I have worked in fast paced, busy clinics but it was controllable. At Pure, the turnaround is so high that you’re short staffed almost everyday and expected to do jobs that you aren’t trained for. It’s mentally and physically exhausting being there. You work from 9-7 (usually leave later) most days and don’t have time for anything, especially if you have a family. Then you get paid minimum wage, so all the hours and hard work spent there can barely pay off bills, food etc. On top of all that, the owner could care less about his staff. He talks about no gossiping and happy workplace all the time but he is constantly judging and talking about other people. The owner as well as HR will pick out all your flaws and fire you if they don’t like your personality. So yeah, I’d say it’s a pretty busy workplace, you learn to multitask, and they take newly grads but it’s not worth dealing with the toxicity. The only thing I gained from working at pure orthodontics was anxiety, depression and mental break downs.

Good entry level experience to add to your resume. Some basics are there if you’re just starting out. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The complete lack of structure and HR support across 7 locations, combined with having your bonuses and preferred location stripped away and being expected to perform at the same level regardless.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic and politically driven. High front-end turnover with people cycling through constantly. The inner circle of about four people are treated well, everyone else is expendable. Clinic staff stay longer but most seem miserable. No real sense of team, just survival.

Navigating unclear expectations with no real chain of command, managing front end chaos due to constant staff turnover, and trying to perform at a high level without the incentives or support that were promised when you started

This place is an absolute joke. Work here if you want to be treated like a robot and be overworked day in and day out. Most of the girls are amazing to work with but the management and “higher up” staff are all about the money and they don’t care at all about their staffs physical or mental health. They just take take take from you and push you so far and then don’t give you any recognition for your hard work. All they do is complain and want you to be better and work faster even though it’s physically impossible to provide good patient care when you are forced to work under these conditions. I know that I’m not the only one who is feeling this way, but everyone is to scared to stand up for themselves. Honestly, I am currently looking for another job because my mental health is far more important than this job. It’s actually so sad that this place is so toxic. It feels like I’m in an abusive relationship and it’s time to get out. NOW. 

Pure Orthodontics was my favorite place to work! The staff there are incredibly positive, fun, supportive, caring and professional. I would highly recommend anyone to join their team in caring for patients during their orthodontic treatment.

I was a former patient but working for the company was a very eye opening experience. A typical day was answering calls, answering emails, scheduling patients, scanning documents and greeting patients. The trouble came when an angry patient would come up, which was at least once a day, and us at the front were generally left alone to deal with it. Most of the time management was hard to get in contact with when you needed their assistants with the patient and when you could get help the manager never stood up to correct the behaviour but would bend over backwards to make the patient happy and tell us up front to deal with it better. 
The turnover rate is surprisingly high. 

I have never worked somewhere so disorganized, stressful, and unprofessional. The management is far too overwhelmed to get to your problems. Managers are nice to your face but you can tell that they’re annoyed when you need something and will gossip behind your back. It is a revolving door of employees. I suspect that the 5 star reviews on indeed are management trying to save face. You will be underpaid for the amount of work you’re expected to do. The other employees can be cranky and passive aggressive. Every single day you can expect to hear “constructive” criticism no matter how good you’re doing. I’m a really objective person and try to find good in everything, but unless you want to work on what feels like the set of a reality tv drama, stay away. You deserve better. You make better money for less work as a waitress than working here.

The amount of managers and receptionists I saw in the year I was with this company was unbelievable. We had 3 managers walk out on the same day due to the toxic work environment. HR thinks they can change policies without getting employees to sign new agreements and could care less about the mental health of their employees. Management doesn’t want to connect with the employees and are essentially just on a power trip with complete disregard to actually assisting employees when they need help. Run, don’t walk!! This place is the absolute worst company I have ever worked for. 

Sadly this company has very poor management. They do not communicate with their staff whatsoever nor do they appreciate the work that’s done. It’s a very toxic work environment as you feel like your walking on egg shells and could be terminated for asking for the bare minimum. The turn over rate is insanely high due to the toxic work environment. Employees either quit due to micromanagement or the fact they have additional roles added to their position with no new contracts or additional pay. I would not recommend working here unless you want to be over worked, underpaid , taken advantage of and bullied by management!!
