I learned so much with this company. This was the first company in my transition from Commercial/Institutional to Industrial O&G. On each site that I worked on, the general management structure remained the same, with employee advancement and fresh faces making their way in as well. I can honestly say that I never once encountered anything other than great leadership. I felt connected, coached, molded and part of a growing team.

Workplace culture was great. A few different shift patterns depending on the project (10/4, 14/7). All but one project was fly-in/fly-out and all projects were camp based, with a few moves. I didn't mind it though.

The most enjoyable parts of the job were the relationships I built with employees and opportunity for advancement. I had always heard bad things about industrial when I worked commercial, but once I completed the transition, worked for a few years and progressed to higher positions, I looked back and thought "I absolutely love this type of work"

I will always recommend Pyramid Corporation for anyone that wants to get into industrial or has been doing it for a while and hasn't been with Pyramid before. The culture is something that I haven't seen or heard since working there and I really wish more companies would follow their style.

I enjoyed working for the company as it gave you the opportunity for hands on experience, building client customer relationships. 

The hardest part of this job was lack of direction from upper management, Sink or swim mentality 

The most enjoyable part of this job was the learning, new work environment ( frequent change of location ) due to service work.
Easy shift schedule 8 hour days 5 days a week Monday to Friday and was typically close to home. 30 minute driver everyday.

Very poor management and foremen in the welding/fabrication shop. Clicky workplace. Blindside dismissal. No second chance, no ability to defend yourself, your gone that is it, that is all!!!! Management takes the word of the foreman, doesn't bother to ask worker or co-workers for any details. NO job security. Always looking for welders....Doesn't make sense when the wage is so good.
Hardest part of the job was the incredible amount of time spent on redoing work. Most of the welders are apprentices, including foreman. Lots of working on your knees.

Long 12 hour days spent doing a wide arrange of Administration duties such as booking flights, accomidations and payroll for over 70 guys. Working as a contractor there are many other duties that the clinet also ask of me. I create daily spreadsheets and manage time and cost through Labour Equipment Materials Systems (LEMS). I live on my working days out in a remote area in Northern Alberta on a 7 & 7 shift. Where I fly out to work a week at a time and living in the camps provided. I find the hardest part of my job is leaving the comforts of my home. But the most enjoyable part of this work is getting a week off at a time.

I was with Pyramid Corporation for roughly 5 years. I completed my electrical apprenticeship with them and they were always willing to hire me back after my school was completed. The benefits were excellent and the people that I worked with were always helpful. I learned a lot through this company. Usually the toughest part of the job was trying to grasp the new material. For the most part, the management seemed to be in good order and was easy to deal with. My favourite part of working with Pyramid was the good workplace atmosphere.

pyramid, like other contract companies, seem to put the jobs first over workers which is ok, when I was there it is/was a CLAC union so that seemed ok as well. The company treated me well when there was lots to do and not so well when the work got slow. They provided a good path for the apprenticeship tickets and seemed to be on time updating the blue books. If your willing to gain some field experience this is a good place to start. There are some very knowledgeable folks there and for the most part we’re easy to talk to.

Pyramid was a decent company to start with but very chauvinistic and they have no work.  Project manager was a complete racist, misogynist.  His motto apparently was "no snatch in the patch", and used the N-word over the radio.  What a great guy!  Met some nice people but the trickle down effect of upper management made for a nasty work environment where everyone was throwing everyone else under the bus.  

Now they are paying way less and making you pay for your own flights.  Bah.

Great company and great experience with an amazing safety culture.I always enjoyed pyramid corporation because I came from overseas where the safety culture was poor or none. With pyramid corporatio I learn a lots about safety and how to make all workers around me feeling safe too. Legal documentatios as flras or jhas are help full and a good orientation to work safe everyday on the wor site and home as well, because I take the safety culture to home.

I definitely learned how to read blue print in the shop as well on site. I am an indigenous female and I was given the same opportunities as many of males on site as well recipient of respect. People are respectful of each others culture. The hardest part of the job was activity level and the best part of the job was the activity level. I enjoyed completing the work and observing the finished product.

Every sector is in a different part of the building and not much communication was between work areas. HR was split up in different building cause lack of communication between fields. Besides that the work environment was great and my co-workers in recruitment were excellent with helping me and learning along the way as I was still a student in the Human Resource Management program. It was a great learning experience in the recruitment section.
