I spent over two years with this company and I have a ton of complaints but all in all they were an alright company that was doing fine I guess. 

In those two years, I never once was given a raise, never once appreciated for the hard work I did or all the stuff I put up with. All I ever heard from the other employees were how terrible they were being treated.

The work was way too much for a job paying the bare minimum of $10.25. I was over worked and given too much responsibility with very little training. Then in the upcoming weeks was required to train other girls who were just starting. Which is another thing, the turn around rate at this place was ridiculous. Everyone who got hired there saw how much was asked of them and ended up quitting which I understand why. 

All that work was put onto me and a few other co-workers who were "entrusted" with it. We had to do everything that management should have been overseeing but wasn't because they were drowning themselves in meaningless "office work" while we were out there trying to do our actual jobs of being cashiers. But no we had to also do inventory X5 a month, stock all grocery and dairy shelves, date check, clean, answer questions and all that other stuff. Also we only had about 2 cashiers on daily trying to do all of this stuff. And if we didn't complete it all, we had a talking to by head office saying we needed to be better with time management and complete more tasks. 

Yup.  Wow I can't believe I put up with all this for so long. I know I'm forgetting so much stuff about what went wrong here. So Kelowna QG if you read this, do better, seriously this the worst job I've worked at and you need to step up your game. Just such a bad job.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The discount iis okay , and you can get benefits. 
You are always busy. There are some nice staff. Free parking . It’s a good location . Overall there is a good variety of products available. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The management is terrible. . It’s very toxic., and unprofessional. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible. Lots of office gossip,lack of respect from management and some coworkers and there is no work life balancing. Lack of recognition, bullying and favouritism 
Lots of turnover there. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy!  You will wear many “hats” working there

I usually busy every shift I work. I although my hours have been cut dramatically because of the slow season. There is no room for advancement or a raise in salary. I have learned to use a meat slicer, overwrap, make wraps and sandwiches, among other deli foods.
I do like most of my co-workers. I don't like how we have so much to do with little people to do it.

Seems great when you start out but honestly it kinda sucked. After a year of working i never got the promised benefits and they never promoted from within. While i was working there they actually hired a new manager and then demoted a manager that had been a hard worker and customer favorite there for years.

a typical day at work is prepping meat and cheese, making sandwiches and cleaning and closing duties. I learned customer service skills and how to work in a deli. The most enjoyable part of the job was connecting with customers and working with great employees

Depending on the location you get sent to you will be working 8.5 hr days and be filling shelves and stocking produce. I enjoyed working here for the year that I was with the team but you will not go anywhere you will stay at 10.25 an hour for life.

I did not work there for very long as they went out of business, but it was fun while it lasted. I liked the friendly staff I worked with, and the casual dress code.

you will never get a raise.
you will never be promoted.
they don't care about your scheduling, they put you in whatever time they need you and expect you to show up.
will change your shift and not let you know.

family oriented place to work, would still be there except that company is going thru some downsizing so my position was no longer required 
enjoyed my day to day tasks 
enjoyed the early morning schedule

Better than working at a supermarket. You get to know your customers and they are all very awesome.. Always hours to pick up. Super flex with family issues
