I worked at Queen Margaret's School for over two years as a teacher, and I strongly caution anyone considering employment there. The salary is well below average for the region, yet you're expected to commit extensive hours beyond the school day, including evenings and weekends. The principal enforces an unrealistic dress code with no financial support for the required formal attire. Worse, I was pressured more than once to inflate student grades, compromising my professional integrity. Class sizes were inconsistent and support for students with learning needs was minimal, leaving teachers to manage without resources. Administrative decisions often lacked transparency, and communication between leadership and staff was poor at best. The constant yearly turnover of teachers speaks volumes—consider that your red flag.

Worked here for one week. Two words: overwhelming & stressful. The only positive was the horses.
Second in command for the barn claims to love new ideas but immediately shuts you down & interrupts you to say “you’re a new person & there’s already a system. It’s a waste of time.” All I suggested was stacking baggies neatly so it’s organized for the next person to fill up grain bins like everyone else does but her. Could definitely tell by her reaction that she prefers telling people what to do rather than being considerate to the next person. There’s no point in standing up for yourself because they don’t want to hear it & interrupt you every five seconds. 
No communication either. It’s a guessing game most of the time. They won’t tell you much unless you ask questions. 
Management really needs to find another way to properly train someone. And for someone who is actually patient with a new person.

I enjoyed working at Queen Margaret School.

Like any job, a certain degree of stress is a given. Queen Margaret's staff worked well together to resolve stressful situations and come up with the best outcomes. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was pleasant and the culture of the company was welcoming and kind.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Queen Margaret School was busy. With students having different classes, needing to be at different' places throughout the day, and lessons to deliver, there was a lot to organize, supervise, and coordinate.

Love the people who work here.They are a group of hard working caring individuals.The quality in transporting peoples pride and joy is not there.Reflects in how they pay qualified staff.Coming from alberta and knowing the public bus system there what is expected of the drivers here would never qualify them to work in alberta.The standards and pay very low for the importance of this positon!!!

Generally a good place to work, department teams are great. Benefits packages are fantastic, actually salary is below industry average.  
In the midst of a full procedural revision and growth process, creating a better environment for both staff and students.

In comparison to a public school teaching job in BC, Queen Margaret’s offers a lower wage and expects longer hours. On top of  academic duties, teachers are expected to work OT twice a week to run after school programs and work a late evening shift in the boarding house. Teachers are not compensated for this extra time.  

Too much work for the $. Cranky snobby management with high expectations but you gey nothing in return. Pay is $15 for non stop shovelling of manure. It’s too bad. The place could be great. 

The kids at the school were more wonderful than I expected and they remained that way the year I spent there, it was such an honour to work in an environment never short of someone to provide a good laugh. Some beautiful, dedicated and hard working teachers and staff.

You get pressured into coming in while you are sick, and they treat you badly if you mess up in the slightest even after trying to show improvement. Not worth the minimum wage
