In retail you have your typical everyday challenges. I had a very challenging days as I would typically have deadlines each day as orders needed to be placed to have proper delivery times. The hardest part of the job was dealing with the constant changes in management, 7 different ones in 5 years. The thing with that is it also was part of the enjoyment as I would need to adapt quickly to different styles of running the business. The other most enjoyable part of the job was seeing the grocery/dairy sales increase each month on a consistent bases.

Toxic workplace, badly managed. 

It is an easy job, slow most of the time but can be busy depending on the day. 
The only way to get a raise is to ask, and most of the time they will give you some excuse like 'I think you deserve a raise, but head office says no.'

Honestly, it isn't a horrible job, except Monday to Friday when the department managers are there, because they are awful. On the weekends it isn't too bad.

Pros: 20% discount. 

Fun staff to work with, very flexible with hours and shifts. Steady job, not too difficult. Didn't see too much of management, but when you do they're nice. Not a good job to work if you are very task oriented. However, it is an awesome job for students, especially for part-time. It was nice and I wish I stayed longer than I did.

The location I worked at the management was deplorable. There was favoritism and segregation. With any issues, management just ignored it. Most of the locations have since closed their doors but a couple remain open. I do NOT recommend working there! *run far away*

Terrible management.  You get only 1 break per 8.5 hour shifts.  There is no break room.  The pay is awful.  Employees are treated really poorly.  Upper management doesnt even talk to the employees.

The most enjoyable part is my regular customers who come in a few times a week, who enjoy seeing me as much as I enjoy seeing them.

The company provides good value for its key products.  It's small size makes it tough to compete against the major supermarkets.  Ownership takes a very active role to ensure the business is meeting his standards.

Enjoyed my time there before they closed the Vernon store. All my coworkers were amazing, and everyone always worked as a team. Very seasonal produce, was very fun getting new things in

At this job my main function was cashier, but also involved stocking and cleaning of the store. Janitorial being the hardest part of the job.

It was okay management was not that friendly and I wasn’t getting paid as well as I should have. I was technically a supervisor and was doing all the supervisors duties but was not getting paid like one
