Quantec is a company that sells information to clients that is usually hard to come by. Instead of a mining company just digging without guaranteed results Quantec can set up and take readings which can give very accurate results for what is actually underground. Printing basically a 3d map for clients of where mineral deposits are, underground rivers as well as oil deposits and many other things. Accurate up to 5 feet at 2 km deep! The crews I was a part of were sent to many remote areas where previous air readings were done to take more accurate ground readings with electricity and magnetic coils. We worked seven days a week until each contract was completed, even if it was a four month long job. Excellent job, very physically and mentally demanding, working outside in remote areas hundreds of km away from any city. Everything about this job I loved except not being able to see my family. If that part of it was different i would still be working with them today.

The proprietary technology is very good and the office team does a good job keeping the software updated when problems arise.  However you should expect to work 10+ hours a day in grueling conditions without any kind of overtime pay.  Quantec also does a very sub par job on talent acquisition and retention. This causes technicians and operators to work extremely long hours, and often required to carry 100+ lbs at a time due to poor road access on site.

This company allowed me to work all over the world with a unique group of people who are like-minded.  As a US employee, employees do not receive any benefits like insurance or time off or paid vacation. It's a very physically demanding job with long hours in extreme parts of the planet.  I enjoy my career here, but I would have an extremely difficult time ever having a normal family doing strictly field work.

Be prepared to work in all elevations and temperatures. You will never be in better physical condition than when you worked with this company. Have thick skin and know that everyone starts at the bottom.  There's some humility that comes from digging holes, carrying heavy water jugs up mountains, and pounding metal rods into frozen ground.

What I like most about Quantec is that there are all kinds of people from different backgrounds, with different personalities, but we all work together to get things done. It's very satisfying and fun. If course there are challenges too, but that makes it more rewarding, knowing you'll be tested but you're part of a team.

This job is physically demanding, you are required to carry heavy loads (40kg) for extended periods of time over often challenging terrain. However there can be great combination of people working with you and it can be quite fun!

I loved working with my co-workers, travelling to Africa & Finland this summer season has given me a broader outlook at various geological areas. I have learned to use and utilise various surveying systems which is a great addition to my skill set.

At Quantec you will be working in camps in remote areas. During my time there I learned how to use a variety of geophysical instruments. Everyone is very nice and its the funnest job I've ever had.

It is an excellent company to work for.  Very professional and respecting of their team of employees.  Hard work that pays well for your time and energy.
