Not impressed. Low pay (pay is divised on flat rate assemblies), no compensation for gas on YOUR OWN car, and just not a great experience. 

Sub contractors are expected to spend as little time possible waiting around, so when you realise that you spend a little too much time waiting for the purchase orders (PO) from managers, and disposing of packaging materials, it becomes very frustrating.  

For example, i was sent to a job at home depotlocated 35 minutes with traffic. My job: assemble 3 bbq's at location. My profit: 60.00$ after spending 4.5 hours at location which involved arriving on time, setting up, building the 3 bbq's, disposal of unit packaging using the facility machinery myself, requesting the PO, then leaving. That's about 5.5 hrs not considering leaving.  Not a lot of money. 

Quick contractors just doesn't pay you enough for jobs. I prefer to work hourly. 

A lot of information is left out about jobs on location, which doesn't sit well with me. I want to work in a more stable environment. This job was just not for me. I do not want to work somewhere where i cannot afford to at least maintain my vehicle, pay rent or mortgage, or eat.  Really not impressed. 


The job seemed like perfect fit during the interview process. The manager seemed invested and seemed to be genuine but that all changed a few weeks in when I needed assistance to help guide me through the complicated and messy system they have implemented to pay and offer jobs. QC does not pay enough for amount of travel and work that is expected of you. The app that they use is controlled by work hungry manager that can add or remove jobs at his leisure. Overall work environment is very stressful and does not compensate for the years of experience a person may have also there is a lack of training on the whole process of how you book your jobs through the app i.e. setting up your work territory, booking days off etc... The overall experience at QC was unprofessional and highly unorganized. If you are sucked in during the interview process, good luck on navigating your way through mess of QC. Also you will need to use your own vehicle and will never be reimbursed for the actual cost of fuel or maintenance. Good luck. Profit over people = Poor company 

Hired me as a plumber , told me how needed I was and how many jobs I can choose from with their app. After being hired part time evenings and weekends there were the odd jobs , they rarely gave me jobs in my area and some jobs were up to 2 hours away from my max distance I gave them  . They also asked me to install shelves, garage door openers, bed frames etc which isn’t what I signed up for as a “needed”plumber. Each plumbing job I was given,  I was told I needed a truck to take the old appliances (dishwashers, hot water tanks etc)they asked if I could borrow a truck also? Not in my scope of work to do , basically have to load the appliance myself and I guess keep it at my house until scrap yard opens or get rid of it myself somehow.? After I explained to them I do not have a truck or storage for peoples old appliances they stopped giving me any plumbing jobs. I have not been contacted by them since so basically not even sure if I’m still employed or they just hire and ghost employees. Very unorganized company , no communication or coordination. Don’t be taken advantage of and they’ll talk a big game before leaving you stranded.

This job is best used as an inbetween job until you get a better one. Depending on what exactly you are building, and in which store you could make great money, or it could be bad (lawn mower inspection pays really well and takes very little time to do, BBQ assembly can be very tedious and take up a lot of time). You can work at your own pace (I just listened to music or audiobooks while i worked). During the spring work is steady, but it does slow down. You can go from working 10 hours a day everyday to a couple hours a week, with no guarantee of work. As others have mentioned, you are a contractor so you need to take taxes off yourself. The other side of that coin, is that you can take off as much time as you want. Some days I left early to hang out with friends or run errands. A few times I took 4-5 days off at a time and nobody said a thing. As long as you get the most urgent stuff done, nobody really cares exactly how much you work.

If you end up working out of town, they do pay mileage but not driving time.

Honestly, your coworkers are so nice and the ability to work from home is a massive bonus. However that's about it. 
It wasnt what I was told in the interview and the management is kind of terrible. You'd ask your manager to help you with an issue and it's just "give me a minute" and you never get any help. You get screamed at by customers because the communication throughout the company is horrible. When you ask a manager to call an angry customer back, they'll wait hours to do it making the customer angier. 
Some clients are terrible and try to throw you under the bus for literally anything. 
Techs get away with treating you terribly because they're the only ones in that area. 
You also need ask customers for an insane amount of money. Some don't fight but the ones that do are really bad and abusive. 
Also be aware that you need to be able to drop everything to help a tech after hours.

Current employee of QC and the communication within the company SUCKS at the best of times. I've been doing installs/builds for 7+ years and got stuck with this company due to a another company losing the contract with store. The store liking my timely manner and excellent work, I stayed with the store under the new contract with QC. They provide no training, hard to get any answers or help. Almost everyone in the office seems foreign and hard to understand (at least be able to easily communicate in English). They take forever to get anything done or booked and they overcharge there customers. I really hope this company goes belly up before long. If I had to always deal with the company (QC) instead of directly with the store, I would of walked out months ago. Avoid this company at all costs....Current Employee

Quick Contractors is a rewarding place to work, with incredible opportunities to hone your technical skills and learn new ones, leaving you with a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. The pay is fantastic if you are willing to work hard. The flexible scheduling is a great perk that allows for a great work/life balance. The ability to set your own pace in the workplace is great and rewarding to those not afraid to challenge themselves. The upper management is attentive and works hard to ensure you have the support you need to prosper. I cannot say enough good things about this job, I have no intention of leaving and would be hard-pressed to earn a similar salary elsewhere. 10/10 I would recommend this job to anyone that has an interest in skilled work and is not afraid to get their hands a little dirty.

I was told I would work and had to wait 1 month to be scheduled and finally only made 1/6th of what I was supposed to do on that day and eventually was told that this job was only to supplement my income. Not only this but my pay receipt says I will be paid in one month (making it 2 months before I receive any money) and now one so far after two days has told me when I will et paid officially. Not only that, but my pay receipt says I need to upload a waiver, again after 2 days no one has responded in order to explain how to officially get paid. All in all, I loved the idea of the job but it seems unrealistic where I live as there is not enough demand. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
You can choose your own hours. That is if they can actually provide you actual work. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
That they are way to inconsistent and a mess on the admin side of things. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Don't care about you or your over all safety. Because you area sub and work for yourself they get away with cutting all kinds of labour laws etc. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Non working usually as it's not advertised enough in stores.

Work starts to pick up in the spring, by summer there is lots to do, slows down through winter, but there is still work some work.  Every day is a learning experience, some assemblies can be challenging.  There are always great associates and managers around, to get you going and, keep you busy.  Hardest part could be, that some of the items to assemble can weight many lbs.  Hands on working with new materials, fun and interesting people, there too.  There is a  knowledgeable team a text, an email, or a phone call away in the office at Quick Contractors.  An honor a privilege and a pleasure to work for.
