Embarking on a career with Quikrete Canada Inc. as a Sales Representative initially felt like setting out on an exciting adventure, but it soon evolved into a daunting experience characterized by intense scrutiny, managerial overreach, and a toxic workplace atmosphere.

 Positive Aspects:

Product Quality: The offerings are outstanding and have a strong presence in the market, providing  sales potential for those who can successfully navigate the inherent challenges.

Collaborative Team: The small team consists of skilled individuals who are genuinely willing to assist one another, providing a positive element amidst a challenging environment.

Challenges:

Excessive Oversight: Daily responsibilities, including calls, emails, and account management, are monitored to an extreme degree. This creates an atmosphere of surveillance rather than one of trust, hampering creativity and fostering ongoing anxiety.

Unhealthy Work Culture: Management often adopts a harsh approach, leaving little room for errors or constructive dialogue. Rather than encouraging development, there is a prevailing culture of blame that results in team members feeling undervalued and demotivated.

In conclusion, although Quikrete boasts high-quality products, the detrimental aspects of its management practices greatly overshadow these benefits. If you thrive in environments that encourage creativity and initiative, it may be wise to consider other options. However, if you choose to face these challenges directly, be ready to cultivate resilience in dealing with micromanagement, unrealistic demands, and a lack of trust and effective communication.

The whole production department act as floaters, with everyone being shuffled around as needed depending on the schedule of the day. Once you've been initiated, you get very little direction, just an assigned task. Management pops in a few times a day to make sure things are running well, but the supervisors are the ones who actually keep the plant going, and they're quite laid back. 
It ends up being a very casual environment, especially on afternoons when management has gone home. As long as production is happening as it should, no one cares what a particular worker is doing at a given time. There's comradery among the workers, and some of them hang out outside of work, however a lot of guys here are lazy and will avoid doing more than the bare minimum. This is likely related to the fact that there are no opportunities for advancement, really, unless a supervisor position opens up, and there's no performance based raises or bonuses, so there's little incentive to work harder than you have to.
The work is physically intensive at times, so if you aren't able to do long shifts with a lot of lifting, this isn't the job for you.


There is a definite divide between management and other worker's. As a driver you are financialy penalized constantly by the driver facing cameras in the cab picking you up on petty things and constantly making noises and warnings.  Unworkable rules imposed by Georgia and different DC management.  The work atmosphere is very toxic and your constantly looking over your shoulder waiting for another warning or wright-up. Drivers wage is almost impossible to understand. 

A lot of drama goes around with people talking about anyone behind their backs. Lack of/poor management. Because of it people don't stay long. The environment is horrible, constantly breathing in chemicals and sand. Poor ventilation. Another issue is also the organization, all the product is scattered or not enough space. Also 0 room for moving up in the company. The pay is also not very good considering the amount of heavy lifting you have to do along with dealing with dangerous chemicals.

ABSOLUTELY enjoyed driving for Quikrete.  Great managers and supervisor that treated me with respect and politeness. Nice equipment to drive and good product to haul. Customers where wonderful to deal with. The issue was a few staff that used their rude 
pathetic behavior forcing me to make an unfortunate decision to leave.    I regret it now !  

Very toxic work environment in office.
Long term employees are not happy people, management is not fit for managing office issues.
A lot of hurtful behaviour towards new people, ignorance in new hires. 
Very immature environment. They will literally hire the least qualified and keep them.
I just wouldn't recommend working here unless you want to feel awful about your choice every day.

The best part of this job is the supervisors. They are the greatest I have ever had. They know everything about everything going on in there. Management is near useless and should probably be fired. 
There is virtually unlimited overtime and it is paid after 40 hours. Coworkers are like characters from a comedy show and are a pleasure to work with. This is not a lax job to work but you can make a lot of money here.

The management here was the major issue. They were responsible for leaving tools around and possibly getting the workers injured. When we had our first winter, we had no heat in the shop and were constantly yelled at if production slowed, even though it was due to frozen machines. In the end, business declined so much over the winter, that I had to move on.

Company treats you as you would want to be treated. Management and supervisors are easy to deal with and approachable. If you have issues they will be fixed by asking. great benefits and pension plan. If you need them  off they are flexible pay is very good and annual raises 


If you become good at what your doing there's no advancements and will become stuck in that spot the supervisor are great people but held back by management and management very much has the favorites and even heard a member of management call some lazy Fu@@s keep in mind management people don't quit the work they quit the management
