Quinlan Brothers

Quinlan Brothers is manual labour with very long hours, also having to stand on your feet for 10 or more hours a day is very difficult.  It was only supposed to be one season but due to unfortunate circumstances it turned into 3 seasons, i'm referring to it as "seasons" due to the fact that it is only seasonal work, typical season runs from April to November.  The best part of the job is getting to meet new people and developing relationships that can last a lifetime.

A typical day would start either early morning at 7am, or early evening at 3 pm.. some days we would work for 6-10 hours depending on the amount of crab on hand  that day..I learned how to sort, inspect, pack, and label the boxes of crab.  I also ran the flipper, a machine used in the packing part of the plant... The other packing that I preformed were  the actual packing of the crab into containers.
The hardest part for me would be the change over from day to night shift, The work is easy and fast paced making time go fast.  I enjoyed meeting the people from the area who worked there because they were pleasant and helpful.

I found my time in bay de verde very stressful at first I was in a nice place to stay then they move me to a dump where there was no stove or fridge all my frozen food spoiled I went there taking less money thinking I would do better and I did worst  I do not think I was treated very nice there and I would not go back there again

If you are late or need to leave early for an appointment they take your incentive pay that you worked so hard for.

For offloading Crab boats I put crab into fish pans, stacked them  and got them ready to board the truck for shipping. It was great working with great co-workers that made the work place happy and enjoyable. This job was hard work but I did not find anything hard about it, I enjoyed what ever task that needed to be done and did it well.

A fun place to work, a great group of people to work for.  It is a very busy workplace the best part about working at Quinlan Brothers was the people you work with.  The hardest part was cleaning the fishy clothes afterwards.

overall great company, only left because its seasonal which is great for some people but not for me. Have nice accommodations for away workers to stay.

off loading boats and loading boats with fish, It was always a good bit of fun cause we were all tired. The best thing about this job would probably be working in the fresh air
