the owner is relatively new to the business and tends to micromanage, which is a technique I don't care for and find counterproductive. 
With the decline in the economy, the jobs are not assured and safety tends to be a position that can be done without until it is needed. I had to do a lot of cleanup when I entered the position as the previous manager had gone through a similar situation
Overall, they employ good people and the atmosphere is a relatively pleasant one.

Yes i enjoyed working as i learned how to back up towards hoe operator. learned how to use PTO. also learned how to tarp up after each load and use PTO and clutch to dump load at each location that was required. i operated tandem and end dump. the hardest part of was cleaning the box but i enjoyed the labouring. management was gd to me and had gd info to guide me through the day. It was all about safety.

You're on call and they call the most senior drivers first which is fine in the summer months but there can be a time when you don't work, you're also always on call. In the summer you will work a ton but you will also have no life. Always on call leaves you with just enough money to live but not enough money to decline work and actually have a life. You decline to many days you will start to not work at all. 

The management is awesome and easy to talk to. The mechanics are sassy but always there to help if you have an issue. The other drivers are great people. The is not the best but fair. They have multiple types of equipment(gravel, water, potable water, vac, 53' tanker and end dump) if you are unwilling to learn all the equipment and want to he in the same truck, this is not the place for you.

Great place to start if your just learning. The pay is on the lower scale. You will be worked like a dog in the summer and starve all winter. They will continually hire new staff and not have enough hours to live off of because their senior staff get the regular hours. I would recommend working for them in the summer and then quit in the winter. It's just a gig and a dead end job.

Good place to work if you’re willing to learn lots of different jobs and be adaptable. They reward hard work. People who duck their phone calls and complain about too much or too little work get bumped down the call list. Not a place to work if you want to do the exact same thing every day and be done at the exact same time every day. But a good place to get experience in lots of different types of work.

They over hire drastically to save on wages and overtime. You’ll sit for over a week then randomly on a Saturday at 6pm they expect you to drop everything and work. Hard to plan anything.  Rules change daily so you never know what you’ll be written up for.  Met many drivers who were worried about paying bills because they say for a week

Trucks broke down , dispatch was the best if the had steady work , had to sit for a couple of weeks to get work on multiple occasions . Supervisors were always over judgemental n critical of task at hand . 

no set schedule, on call 24/7, flip from days to nights to days with zero notice, if you refuse work too many times, you will be replaced. They love old school truckers who know how to "manage" their HOS. Top credit goes to them for keeping their trucks in top notch running condition.

Work was good soon as 3 month probation comes close they do not need you. Good to work with other drivers. Long term employees know you are not going to be there long. Management all nice to you until they shuffle you on.
