I enjoyed working with my coworkers. The department managers really care about their staff and the level of effort they put into their job. Some definitely put too much in to be treated as poorly as they do. The work is pretty easy although the weight of the jobs are carried unevenly within the team. Some days are very stressful. New logs and procedures are implemented without notice or telling anyone, and upper management and HR need to care more about the staff and less about what they did on the weekend and it feels like they aren't formally trained in any management or HR practices. Just makes people deal with ongoing problems rather than fixing them.

I’ve worked at red barn for around 8 years and those years are definitely memorable. The turn over is pretty high and managers are always shifted around so if you didn’t get along with someone, chances are that you wouldn’t have to work with them in a couple months. I really liked this job and the people there, and I had opportunities to advance my career. The only negative thing is dealing with customer service and the toll it takes on your mental health.

It's fun and easy to get into when you start then you learn that its constantly understaffed, SB and Deli workers are very overworked and we are not paid enough for what we do. A lot of responsibility is put on the more experienced workers and little to no training is given from mangers, often leaving you to figure it out or be told how to do it from your coworkers.

A fun place to work with staff that is dedicated to their jobs.  Management changes frequently and are untrained making staff confused on procedure. Policies change without being passed onto others making it very confusing for staff that are only working a few hours a week.  No perks for staff except free coffee/tea.  Salaries are capped without chance of advancement but an increase of responsibilities.

Typical day at work is working with friendly and enjoyable people who are passionate about what they do.
Learning a lot about food and produce which helps myself eat and feel better.
Management is amazing very supportive and will answer any questions without hesitation.
Everyone on the team work well together and enjoy their jobs which makes the dynamic so great.

Red Barn Market is a great place to work, everyone I worked with were all very kind. My day usually consisted of packaging products, putting them out on display, helping customers, restocking and cleaning up. I found some difficulty cleaning up on time at the beginning but got much better over time. I enjoyed getting to work and talking to my co-workers they were great friends to me.

Was a manager and let go because of a misunderstanding email sent to me. When corrected before my next shift I was let go over the phone without reason and of course payout cause it was an unlawful let go after 3yrs. They have no meat logs for the meat department. They smell the meat, disgusting. HR yells at you instead of listening and has no degrees. Too many things to say but don’t recommend at all.

It's a fun place to work with your friends as a student but the pay is low, management can be a bit chaotic, and there are no benefits. They make so much money off of employees buying their lunch which is a bit messed up imo. They could easily afford to give a discounted or even free sandwich to employees on their shifts and I'm sure the employees would be much happier. 

This was a great first job for me when I was in high school but I never felt valued as an employee. Reflected in both wage and communication with management/ownership. The employee turnover was fast and furious as most food service jobs are but no effort was made to make the long term staff feel appreciated and want to stay.

There are opportunities to learn a lot in this job, but you have to be willing to go above and beyond the expectations set out for you.  The pay is modest at best for the work, but reasonable considering the job title.
