Beware: working at Redi may feel like they care, but you're just another number. The atmosphere is toxic, and unless management and HR change, things won't improve. They often choose outside candidates for higher positions over long-time employees, leading to false hopes about advancement. Frontline workers receive inadequate pay while management earns three times as much for minimal effort, often spent gossiping. After four years in the field, I applied three times for a supervisor role, only to be passed over for external hires. Ironically, I ended up training the new supervisor I wanted to be. After being forced out of my long-time position with limited options, I decided to pursue a better career. I gave my two weeks' notice and wanted to stay on casually, but a medical emergency prevented me from working my last week. Despite providing a doctor's note, Redi dismissed me and blocked all contact, even regarding my RRSP and benefits. I would not recommend working here unless it's a temporary stop; the environment is toxic and management unprofessional. Supervisors may seem supportive, but they often gossip about staff during meetings.

I get to work at 9 a.m. everyday and I'm greeted with a smile every time I walk in to the building by the lovely people that work at the front desk. I've learned a lot about accounting in the time that I've been working here and I've also been able to put everything that I learned in post-secondary to good use as well. The management in the finance department is one of the highlights of working for REDI because if there is ever anything I'm unsure about in my work the manager is always willing to sit with me and walk me through it to help me understand the concepts and what is being done. The workplace culture is very much a collaborative one as there is a fair amount of interdepartmental communication especially with finance. The hardest part of the job is also the most enjoyable and that would definitely be the amount of things I'm being taught and trained on because it gives me a very good view on all the different accounting processes that go on in an organization such as REDI even if it can get a little overwhelming at times.

I have been fortunate to be working at REDI for 6+ years and only have positive things to state about this organization. I love that everyone works together with a common goal, whether you work in the office, a home or the community - we all work together to better the lives of the individuals that REDI supports. 
The culture at REDI is inclusive, positive and moves in a forward-thinking manner, this is evident in the diversity at REDI!  
As a non-profit, the pay can always be better but REDI's benefits package is free to it's employees and even includes RRSP matching which is unheard of these days. Compared to similar non-profit's in Med Hat, REDI's pay grid is higher still. 
I cannot recommend REDI enough, there's a reason why they have been in the community for over 70 years! 

REDI is truly a beautiful company to work for. As someone who comes from years of experience working with people with disabilities, I have never seen a company who is so client and advocacy focused. They train all their staff on site, ensuring staff have all the proper tools and confidence in the workplace. I was blown away by the accountability and thoroughness that REDI has. The company has provided me with great flexibility as a single mom in my hours and have been more than understanding when needing personal time in the workplace. REDI also provides 5 paid sick days for family members, which is so gracious to do. I’m thankful for the work they do. 

REDI is making big strides with respect to organizational culture. Current leadership values open and honest communication, and there is much emphasis on wellness, inclusion, and work/life balance. 

Human services are often chronically underfunded for the work they do, but REDI manages to offer pay and benefits that exceed similar organizations.

The most enjoyable part of working at REDI is likely the co-workers. Such a passionate group of people!

Everyone at REDI is very friendly and welcoming, people take time to make you feel seen. In my role as an employee at REDI  I feel supported in my learning and development. My supervisor is open and provides honest and helpful feedback adding to a positive working environment. I am excited about the work that REDI does and what they stand for and am happy I can call myself a part of the REDI team. I also feel that REDI accommodates a healthy life/work balance. As a parent of young children my families needs are taken into account and I have flexibility to be where I need to be. 

Great place to work, clients are awesome.
Individual houses are full of drama, mainly contributed by supervisors

Training is not a priority, although REDI says it is
Management acts like they are concerned about issues, but will do nothing to provide intervention or solution
Short staff makes phone ins a regular occurrence.
Pay should be higher, especially for  the responsibilities

Great upper management team. Staff is treated with respect and encouraged to grow into one's own full potential. This non-profit company adheres to a standard of Excellence and after being employed with this agency for many years I would recommend it for long-term employment

The lazy staff get away with everything and management from HR down don’t care. Worst work experience ever. Management has no appreciation or value their staff. Turn a blind eye to serious issues
