Management staff are impossible to get a hold of for anything and do not have your back. If you're injured they side with WSIB, if families are abusive they side with them, WAY too much catering going on for certain families (asking psws to do tasks that are not our responsibility). 

Scheduling department is a complete an utter joke. They don't care if you are sick or have had someone in the family pass, you better be at the scheduled shift. They also have the right to schedule you in within 24hrs and make no phone calls to let you know so you have to check your schedule regularly. 

The home itself and the employees in it are AMAZING people. They truly stay not because of the pay but because we genuinely love our residents. 

Toxic work environment created by very poor management. Staff are either being micromanaged to the lowest common denominator, or neglected and left to hang. Very low trust environment where self-preservation and avoiding liability or accountability is paramount. Managers talk about supporting staff, but frequently fail to deliver on promises, lay excessive discipline, and are generally unresponsive to feedback, let alone constructive criticism. Staff quickly learn to keep their heads down and mouths shut. 

A typical day  means you are busy the entire day so time goes very quickly. I learned that the different departments had different workplace cultures and some workplaces had better work environments. I liked my Managers and I felt they were well qualified. The hardest part of the job was going into work and finding that one of your residents had passed. The best part of the job was enjoying the residence. I wouldn't have been there without them.

This was a great place to work for the 31 years I was there.  New management came in undermined the employees, put new job descriptions in place, less money, less hours,  More meetings than necessary, employees now feel defeated.  Most enjoyable fellow employees.  

I had been forced to retire as i was no longer qualified for the position i was doing.

Enjoyed the work environment. Everyone was willing to teach, explain, and get involved to work as one team. Learned so many laboratory skills that I will use in future work as well as valuable life skills. Great place. I have never been more proud.

Busy caring workplace with many locations. Providing professional nursing services. Educational and advancement opportunities. Responsible management and support staff. Friendly environment.

the place is clean and fun. we work with a great staff. the staffing is low but thats thanks to our lovely government cuts. the staff work hard and are great to be around.

outstanding day at work. interesting people with some interesting incites into the day to operation . This is what makes it worth coming in a happy and helpful environment

I have greatly enjoyed my time thus far with the Regional Municipality of Niagara. It is an amazing place to work as well as an employer that encourages growth and develpoment.

Good culture
Once you get a permanent position you are set for life.
Hardest past is not knowing whats next after your contract is up.
Love all the people that work there.
