Poorly managed. They take advantage of their employees, create a very dramatic and distrusting environment, and do not reward those who work hard. They will let people go only for personality clashes, and will keep those who may not have great work ethic but know how to work the people who make the hire/ fire decisions. The union is treated very poorly, as if they are not employee's themselves.  The salary and benefits offered are the only positive with the company. WARNING - it is not worth it. This company almost destroyed me, as well as many other ex-employee's I've kept in touch with.

Start at 8:00 AM and finish at 4:30 PM with 1 hr lunch break.
Worked to develop new products, trouble shooting of problems in production and performance in the field.
Investigation of failure is a big part of responsibility.
Good top management, good relations with marketing and sales.

I enjoyed my 4 years working experience with RHI and learned a lot from my colleagues and former manager with their kind support and guidance.
Being based in Vienna, Austria, the staff and management are supportive and professional.

Great money ,and people to work for .The only job from excellence was the union local 837 members that RHI had to hire because of there collective agreement between RHI the UNION 837 and ESSO NANICOKE.

Usual work day is 10 hours minimum
Learned to remove and install many types of refractory 
Learned valuable safe work practices
Heavy dirty work usually in a cramped area

Management worked well together with all levels of staff.  As a 6 week contract position I was made feel like I was a part of the team.

I have contracted with this company on a couple of occasions and no matter who is in charge at the time, they work well with the management teams.

While the time that I was there, the company did not follow OHS standards and was under review for it.  It was not a very well managed company and the top management was not in Canada therefore it made it hard to work under these conditions.

I am fortunate to have found an amazing job that challenges me everyday!  I am thankful for everything that I've been able to learn and the knowledge that I will now transfer to a new position.

what i remember it was a nice place to work   only worked there on a contract basis   they did offer me a full time job but at the same time stryker did   i decided to go with stryker

Friendly people, good atmosphere. Mostly kept to myself and worked on the computer all day. Having the ability to walk around the factory keeps it more interesting then only being at the computer
