Firstly, the management style was very questionable. Theres no loyalty in this company unless you are family. They want a self starter but advertise they will help and guide you.   If you work in Kamloops you are thrown to the wolves because the people in the office in Langley are so established with their staff and inner circle the don’t want to take the time to formally train employees.   They have time to sit and complain over about people than take the time to grow respectfully.   For a company who bills your entire wage to their clients they could also pay better for the amount of work expected, with the poor lack of training it’s really not an ideal position.  For companies that give you a half an hour lunch break and 2 15 mins breaks you would never use being so far outside the city.   If you ever get your breaks with the heavy work load, doubtable that you’d ever use.   They claim to be understanding and family oriented it’s really only referring to the family that’s within the organization.

Pretty standard to work a 10 hour day.

I have really enjoyed my time with RKM Services Ltd as it allowed me to touch on a variety of administrative and accounting related tasks, mentally pushed me out of my wheelhouse and gave me quite a bit of support as I pursued my CPA designation. Heavy Industrial accounting is a busy environment along with the union aspect that was challenging but rewarding.

Really great place to get your feet wet on administrative, accounting or reporting type roles. It's heavy construction with a large union component so don't expect your typical office lifestyle. Reasonable pay, with OT options. Not much upward mobility due to the smaller size of the company, but lots of areas to get experience.

Great people who very professional and take alot of pride in their work. Have made alot of money working on mega projects with amazing people and have learned more working for rkm than I have my whole career

Busy professional environment with skilled trades people from pipefitters to ironworkers cladders and millwrights Lafarge holcim expansion project RKM did excellent work in all aspects

Demanding both physically and mentally. Various work locations across western Canada in cement and pulp and paper industries. Good pay but non scheduled work may leave you with long intervals between paycheques.

Working for RKM provided me with a lot of experience in mining equipment and construction. I would work for them again so long as the job is near home for me.

Lot of fun going around. Safety culture is poor. We can work very freedom. Little bit tight of tools. But very good people around you  Planning and arrangements are poor..
