ROCKET EXPRESS

I worked for them for 4 months and only reason I left was I needed surgery and I wouldn't have been able to handle the work for a long time. Usually you start out about 11 am where you would do your pre trip than back your truck up to the dock to load product going to Edmonton and area. I was on the west side of Edmonton. Which was nice cause you got to know your customers really well. After you got to Edmonton you would go drop off your freight you picked up at Drayton Valley sometimes there was drop offs before Edmonton. Between 1 pm and 5 pm you would start doing pick ups from customers in the city before starting your regular daily pick ups at 5 pm. You would finish up in Edmonton between 7 and 8 pm most nights as you had a tight schedule at times. You would do drop offs on way back to Drayton Valley on a good night you could be back in town by 9 pm but some nights were closer to midnight. Once you got back you unloaded your truck with your daily pick ups. The most enjoyable part about the job was the staff and the customers as it was always pretty laid back atmosphere.  On thing I will add. Can't be afraid of a little hard work but they take good care of you.

The people were very nice, once they knew I could handle the job after a couple months, I was allowed to do what I needed to do to get the job done, safely and effectively.   The only problem I have with Rocket is the lack and desire for growth and no chance of promoting  to a higher level for employees.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good people,from management to co-workers every ones amazing and gets along!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
I think when all the truck arrive at the he same time it becomes over whelming.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is very relaxed for the most part when mistakes are made they will let you know but put an emphasis on improvement instead of scalding you.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Alot of driving and physical labour

Unfortunately I had to take leave because I worked a night shift. And my son was not getting up in the morning to go to school.at the time it was paramount to make sure my son was at school. Unfortunately my shift manager was not a good person. Overall the rest of the staff were excellent. 

Rocket Express was a good stepping stone for future driving for myself . I then got my class 3 drivers licence and went on to drive in the oilfield. Rocket Express gave me the experience of all weather driving conditions which was a invaluable experience.

Keep you until it's time for a raised, then used you to train the new guy coming for your job. if you're looking an at the moment job yes! but looking for long term stability no.

Rocket was a great company to work for.  They had weekends off and a good home/work balance. The management was younger but very business savvy giving him the perfect mix as employer and business operater. Definitely recommend this place for employment and your carrier needs.

Backstarting Is lying manipulating No appreciation for hard workers They figure they just deliver freight customer service isn't the number one goal like they say If they can throw you out on your a** they will Is no respect for real drivers

Rocket Express had a good work life balance, good pay with company benefits. Management was understanding with concerns. I would work here again. Learned a new set of skills with time management and customer service

Very flexible with my work home life. Bosses are always fair and have an open door policy which I appreciate.  A job that I actually enjoy going to and easy going co workers make all the difference.
