working at Canada post has been an amazing journey for me I have learned many skills such as organization, reading documents with clear understanding and leadership, my work day consists of early mornings where I sort hundreds of letters and parcels into a organized delivery schedule, secure cooperate keys and scan parcels for delivery. I use my own vehicle and set out to deliver mail quickly, efficiently but with safety always in mind. my coworkers are a wonderful group, always encouraging and willing to help, the hardest part of my job is training new employees to become on call relief workers in just 3 days where in all honesty would take 10 days. I do enjoy the challenge of training, and breaking down the how too' to best teach most efficiently in such a short time. I love knowing what my job requires of me on a daily basis and even when a curve ball gets thrown,I can handle just about anything that comes my way. I currently have 950 customers from which iv always given my best personal service to daily. I have helped extensively on every rsmc route many times over the last 18+ yrs. I proud of the hard work i have accomplished over the years. I enjoy learning new skills and take every opportunity to grow and develop myself.

I thought I had landed!  It's a crown organization!  good pay and benefits etc and career progression eh?  WRONG!!!!!!!

I was flung out into the deep without proper training.  I work 60hrs per week and earned less than $10 per hour (pro rata).  You even have to pay for your own fuel as well.  

In short this is the worst job I've ever had.   Canada Post is a thoroughly dishonest and corrupt organization.   

I'd never thought I'd say it but privatization is its only hope.

For the most part my job is done independently.  I work around other employees and we help each other out when it's needed.  I enjoy working within the community and greeting my customers.  For the most part they are all really pleasant.  I normally start my job at 7:30 am and finish around 3:00 pm so it is nice to be home in the evenings with my family.

They could not pay me enough to be that overworked again. My back, knees, vehicles and patience were challenged and broken everyday. For what? A non english speaking person who will work for 20 hours/day getting paid for a solid 8 to come in a replace me.

Fast-paced environment that is productive. Pay is great and workplace culture is very unique. I learned a variety of things such as how the delivery of mail works, and how the workplace is changing constantly through the introduction of new technology.

Sorting the mail in the office was a great way to start the day, always full of laughs, with a great group of people.  Then out on the road to deliver rural mail, it was amazing.  There is no security as a replacement and advancement is next to immposible without connections

Simply awful. Little training, tense environment, uncooperative coworkers, terrible working conditions. Hazardous driving conditions. Delivering mail for hours after dark by yourself. 

hard work and poor treatment of employees by management. no proper training and penelties for doing work wrong when you were never shown how to do it properly.management always talking down and looking down at you.

I love working out side in all weather conditions. I can work independently or in a group environment. Physically strong and high energy. Great additude.
