RTL Motor Express

As a highway driver they dog track you every step of the way. They try and tell you where you should sleep at night. Don't report any problems to them, they don't want to here about it. They And if you do have any problems to get fixed they push it off and don't give you time to get the truck in shop depending on severity. They are an arrogant clicky little group that wont hardly give you the time of day. And they keep you in the dark most of the time! If they decide your no a yes man they will screw you over and run you right out the door.

Expected to do flatbed and rolltite work for the same pay as dry van. Low Hourly rate. Almost no benefits of anykind. 

Dispatch was great, but demanding.

Safety Guy had never driven a truck and would drive his little Toyota through the yard like an idiot would drag you in every time you had hard braking event recorded to talk to you and micro manage you. 

Older, whinier drivers got to do all the easy routes and work, while the new guys had to go to Toronto and do 15 stops every day.

First they put me together with a chopped up face arrogant, insulting local driver for training. Then they make me to sit in the truck a half a day for free just a half an hour from Detroit and next day when I had my last pick up wait another 2 hours because I had 1 skid spot left on the trailer. And of course they sarcastically asking me: "are you in a hurry" ... Slept in sub unit truck in February with no heat. Cheap shot amateur users and abusers...

You're responsible for everything,  youre told by phone -text -wakietakie what to do and you have to sort your load at yard dock and load your self and if it's flatbed you have to load and put straps on and next day go to delivery,  comeback load again or go for pickups afternoon comeback unload and load your next day load etc and continues calling by wakietakie where are you what you doing when will you be here there etc stressful

If hadn’t been for health reasons I would still be there, the company accommodated all of my needs, paid very well and truly an open door policy. Dispatch was very good at what they do and management went above and beyond for its employees including financial assistance unbelievable people

I would never recomend this place for employment! They have little to no respect towards their own drivers! Even though they wouldn't even exist with them.
The slackers are left alone while the hard workers are just pushed harder and harder.

Do not work at RTL they try to say the do not play favorites but they do 
If you don't agree with what Supervisor says and say something you get in trouble you get told just do it even if it goes against some policies


Great place to work excellent pay and easy to book time off. Any issues you can speak directly to management. Very organized office staff and all customs paperwork is taken care of by the office.

Liked my dock partner didn't like the unpredictable hours and the dangerous ice in the winter months aswell as the heat and the stink from the neighboring plants in the summer.

I really enjoyed my job at RTL being a long haul truck driver to the states and really loved my job as a line haul driver at RTL.every body I worked with made me feel at home.
